preraph Posted June 2, 2020 Posted June 2, 2020 Yeah, now that she's red hot, he's probably either thinking he'll need a new gf for sure OR he's mad and wants to cuss you out.
stillafool Posted June 2, 2020 Posted June 2, 2020 No he's pissed and probably wants to cuss OP out and make her tell his wife she was lying. Oh what a tangled web we weave. OP did you also tell her you knew he was married when you got involved? Did you apologize for your part in this? 1
mark clemson Posted June 3, 2020 Posted June 3, 2020 It will be interesting to see how it plays out for them - feel free to keep us informed if you learn anything.

The situation is too unbalanced and the single person ends up wanting more. In many countries, what you did would be sanctionable, meaning you can end up in court and have to pay damages for breach of privacy. In most cases, you're not allowed to disclose private matters about anyone to whomever. Just hope that they won't sue you, or be prepared to have lots of money. For the future, refrain to do the same not to take the very same risk again (losing money that you might not even have).
IfWishesWereHorses Posted June 7, 2020 Posted June 7, 2020 When I read your original post I felt for you, but when you disclosed your ages at the end, I can’t help but think you’d know better. He hasn’t made it to 60 in a miserable marriage and all of a sudden will leave! Glad you owned your part and came clean, if he were ready to leave he’d have jumped at the opportunity. Sorry you found yourself in this mess. 1 1

If the OP could be sued in some countries, can the betrayed spouse then sue their significant other under the same law? I don't understand the rationale for these laws. This must be generated by a political activist group wanting to sow discord into society or perhaps a special interest group that is imposing their moral will on everyone. When you are dealing with emotional decisions, I don't think the threat of a law suit is going to deter you. You may regret it later on but that won't stop it when it happens.

No. She could if she had proof that he disclosed private matters with his lover and they became of public domain, as she has a right to her privacy. Or if he was saying to everyone he had a lover.
gamon Posted June 7, 2020 Posted June 7, 2020 If his wife found out about the affair, she'd be heartbroken- those are his words. So he's lying to her by concealing the affair, you understand this, right? If he's lying to the woman he fell in love with and vowed to be faithful to for the rest of his life, he's sure as hell going to lie to you.

Isnt the act of divorce like suing someone? In the areas that you can use the OP, I would think an affair would change the outcome of the split of assets? 1
