A friend was reportedly told this by a colleague Friday. I've no idea what happened, I thought they'd a half-decent rapport, but... doesn't seem so. I believe the supervisor may have said something to the speaker but due to rumors / bulls*** by a 3rd person my friend got blamed / IDed as the culprit behind the trouble.

Been in the business world for 50 years, and success - and sanity - has been tied to simply ignoring these types of situations.

This person thought they heard something about someone else filtered through yet a third person?  No thanks...

Much to be gained by being seen as above the fray. YMMV...
