My girlfriend passed away 1 year ago today. I'm still not over it and continue to grieve and mourn her every day. I still feel so lost without her.

Hey @Syd8 - I'm sorry for your pain and your loss. Losing someone like that can cause an emotional black hole to develop. The trick is - through therapy, talking with friends/family, using a site like this - to dive into the pain and rediscover who you are. The scar will always be there but if you work on the pain, if you live willingly in the darkness and find your way out, it will become a memory and you can focus on the good times as remember that you can find love again.

You've been through all the "firsts" now without her - birthdays, anniversaries, holidays.  Gradually it will become more bearable, the pain will be less sharp as time goes on.
