Springsummer Posted April 5, 2020 Posted April 5, 2020 I have been only texting with this guy sporadically for MONTHS. a couple days ago, I asked him if he has been married. He said no never. I said that's great and he asked why and if I want to marry him. I said of course, if you are the right man and I am right for you. He smiled. My question and answer are appropriate, right? or I will scare the guy and sounded desperate? but that's a big if. so I don't think it means much?
chillii Posted April 5, 2020 Posted April 5, 2020 Sounds like a beautiful answer to me even in lighthearted fun, if he's real that is . 1
ExpatInItaly Posted April 5, 2020 Posted April 5, 2020 Why have you not met in person if you've been texting for months? Have you ever had a phone call or video chat with him? 2
Blind-Sided Posted April 5, 2020 Posted April 5, 2020 Even as a guy... that was the right answer. Lets face it... as an adult... most of us are looking for that person we can spend the rest of our lives with. Sure... there are "Players" and people who never want to be married... but that's not the norm. 1
Lotsgoingon Posted April 5, 2020 Posted April 5, 2020 Witty ... did he react weirdly? Sounds fine to me. 1
Lotsgoingon Posted April 7, 2020 Posted April 7, 2020 OP, this is actually a great attitude for dating. I said of course, if you are the right man and I am right for you. That's literally what it's all about, being clear that you want to date someone who is right for you and you for them.
Haerts Posted April 8, 2020 Posted April 8, 2020 I think it was sweet and I also think that he liked your reply. Seems like you two are interested on each other, even though it's starting. And now you know he might be looking for something more with you (unless he's one of these stupid men that say that kind of sht to get into a woman pants). 1
Kballer Posted April 9, 2020 Posted April 9, 2020 (edited) I think you did really well. You did not communicate that "I need to get married ASAP, and have BABIES immediately!" which would have scared the beejeesus out of him.. Yes, I have had women tell me that... I've dated several women who have told me within the first 3 of 4 dates, that I would be the "perfect husband"... I was OUT faster than a failed light bulb after that... I WANT to be married.. But I have this weird idea that I really need to get to know someone, and they me, before I would even consider marriage.. I know.. I'm an F'n weirdo for wanting to get to know someone.. Edited April 9, 2020 by Kballer left out weird words..
