Silently sitting in the darkest corner of my room lost in thought contemplating the very meaning of life.

I've done a bit of that this year. Hope you are ok.

Still leaning back against the darkest corner of my room in the bowels of hell. Grasping my pillow tightly. Crying myself to sleep. ;)

How can we help?

Yeah, but it's not New York big.  It's just bigger and fatter than I wish it was, that's for sure.  I hate killing things.  It could be pregnant or anything.  The weird thing is I usually hear them in the walls before I see them, and I have not heard it in the wall.

Life has been wild lately.  Been hanging out with two guys, this one from work and the other my old friend I had sex with before when I was 17 and he was 19.

My friend is so much fun that I feel the need to hang out with him.  He’s always up for doing something cool like riding in his hellcat or on the back of his harley, guy from work doesn’t drink or smoke but I did corrupt him one night and he had one and a half twisted tea.  Friend doesn’t smoke much either, I’m the only stoner.

Anyway I’m just taking it a day at a time.

Boy, I sure wish everyone could get back to work.  Too much idle time.

Yesterday we were quite daring.

I had a doctors appointment and my wife wanted to go along. I sat in the parking lot. They called me on my cell phone and only then did I enter. Inside they took my temperature and I saw the nurse practitioner. The got some blood from me and I left.

My wife sat in the car.

I had not ate that morning so we went to Bob Evans and had breakfast. That's the first time we've ate out for over two months. Masks were being worn and social distancing was being observed. We left there and went to Target. Wife stayed in the car. We left and went to Giant Eagle. Wife stayed in the car. Since my wife was with me I got to use the handicap parking zone.

Loaded up the groceries and went home.

A brief fling with normalcy.

I've been lucky enough to keep working, but for a while, i thought I'd join the ranks of the unemployed. It's hard to write about news and events when they're getting cancelled hand over fist. My editors are great, and worked hard to make sure there's enough work to go around.

I've been lucky enough to fall into a volunteer position where i can write SEO ad copy and blog postings for a couple of local  not for profits. It helps them, and I don;t mind not being paid- they're just scraping by and really need the help.

One huge concern I have is the impact all these events being cancelled is going to have on our local economy. Some of the fundraisers that have been cancelled have been huge events, and it's hitting the event planning, food service and overall hospitality industry really hard. A lot of these are just small companies, and a lot are struggling. I've been working with some others with an ag. background to help promote the area's farming industry ( "go ahead, make my hay ") and give it as much support as possible.

Starting in July, we can visit the three adjoining provinces without self isolation. We've booked ourselves into a little cottage, and my daughter's friend from Jamaica who got stranded here when the unis. closed is going too. Should be lots of fun.

I had an errand to run, so while I was out, I picked up 10-pound and 15-pound dumbbells, 2 each. I've been looking for a good set for a while, but everything affordable and good online is sold out and this store was sold out of sets, too. Clearly, I'm not the only person expanding my little home gym.

I also got a big bag of potting soil and a new plant for my hanging basket on the front porch. I have a golden pothos out there now, but it's too hot for it, so I'm bringing that one inside as a house plant.

Also, today I invested the maximum amount in a Roth IRA for 2019. I'm stoked to select my funds and (hopefully) watch my money grow.

These days I'm mostly doing the same things I always do.

Like ostracizing myself from friends and family by posting "conspiracy theories" on Facebook. Separates the wheat from the chaff very efficiently.

Scamdemic plannedemic.

Bolshevik takeover.

CLOWN WORLD. 🤡

We've had some balmy humid days here, then thunderstorms. My flowers are just thriving. I've got beautiful, gladiolas, periwinkle, roses, portulaca, dianthus, hydrangeas, and many others.  Color all the way around the house.

We've been doing some home improvement projects.  Had the whole house painted both inside and out (pool deck included).  Next up, we're having a tray ceiling with recessed lighting put in the kitchen.

After that will be some Quartz or Granite counter tops in the kitchen (new sink and back splash etc.).  Just had to replace our washing machine (16 years).  Bought a nice top of the line LG on sale at Lowe's.  Spending money like a drunken sailor.

As they say though, you can't take it with you as you've ever seen luggage racks on a hearse.

I read that as 'on' first, I must be very lonely because I was wondering how it works! Going down to the docks was a euphemism in England years ago...

My friend has been asking me to take some guppies off her hands for months and I finally did and set up a tank for them. I didn't want them, but wanted to help her out. I added a couple of balloon mollies to the tank and now that it's all set up I'm starting to get Tank Fever. I had a saltwater tank years ago but got tired of the work and gave everything away. Now that I'm watching these mollies float around they remind me of my puffer fish...and I'm really starting to think I might dive back into salt water tanks.

My husband is irritated with my friend now for getting me started again and is already letting me know that he's not involved and the  the work is all on me. That's kind of what got me burned out on them last time. But last time the kids were little so I had less time to devote to them. (lol practicing my excuses and defenses on here now to see if they work)

Should I do it....?

Yes... I've been installing new kitchen counter tops - granite tiles (this week). [traditional gray granite]

All was going well.  I was beveling and polishing some of the edge pieces, when my Harbor Freight angle grinder started getting hot then started smoking.  Soon after it died.  RIP little angle grinder.  So I called it quits a little early.

I think I'm going to get a Porter Cable angle grinder tomorrow.  I'm too hard on the Harbor Freight tools for them to last.

Look into canless LED lighting.  I just installed two and they are GREAT!!

Easy to install and inexpensive to operate.

This evening I did a short workout on the mat (crunches, squats, etc.), then went for a good jog around my neighborhood. It's been a few weeks since I got a good workout like that and it felt great.

I've been doing some tedious but important work lately, and though I had a paid vacation day today, I put in a couple hours of work since it's taking longer than expected. I feel responsible!

Then I baked coconut cupcakes for my birthday next week. I'll keep just a few and take the rest to my parents' house tomorrow to share with friends and neighbors. I had one and it was perfect.

I just signed up for Disney+ so I can watch Hamilton the Musical, first time it's ever been available to watch online.

I picked up my girlfriend this morning for the Holiday Weekend.  We haven't seen each other in a month.  If it isn't too hot, I'd like to try to cook some burgers on the Hibachi over the weekend.

We are presently doing a month's worth of her dirty laundry.  I told her not to go to the laundromat that it was kind of dirty and a possible source of Covid-19 from the other patrons.

Tomorrow or Sunday, I'm going to dye and cut her hair.  Just a light trim off the ends, nothing major (an inch at the most).

I went out and ran about half a thousand rounds through a couple AR carbines a few days ago, probably will do it again this weekend if time permits. Finished up a couple projects at work. Rebuilt a few broken things around the house, printed a few parts for various things. Tonight I think I'll sleep early and long. Maybe have one more dirty tequila first.
