Today I’m swapping out my winter clothes for summer clothes.  Well yesterday.

Two days ago I replaced the flashing on my screen porch room or whatever you call it that I stripped down completely.

BF helped me get the door off and I was so impressed that he only needed to use a screwdriver. I had been trying and was ready to blowtorch it off at the hinges with the blowtorch my son borrowed from his friend whose dad is a plumber.  Thank goodness for BF

I had to keep the old hinge on at the bottom because replacing it would require to remove the siding plus a whole lot of layers that I really didn’t want to get into so I was so happy to find a shim in my shed and I secured it like new!

I’m so glad my old neighbor showed me that before but this project is going to take me longer than I was hoping.

They always take longer then you estimate or friends tell you it will. It's simple they say.

You missed an opportunity to make a mark in family folklore when you didn't use the blowtorch. That would have been an amusing story for years at family gatherings.

I already have too many stories @schlumpy

The day Mom called the fire dept and got rushed to the ER doesn’t really need to be one of them.

Today I’m going for my tests, the covid and the antibodies both.  I’ve had some time to think it over and although I’m not thrilled with what the covid test entails (for antibodies it’s just a blood test) I figure that having the covid test is nothing in comparison to what others are experiencing and if there’s a way to help them then that’s what I should do.

I keep hoping my native American clinic will get the testing here locally and then I'm going to go but I have never run a fever. I've had other complications though and they do say that some people who are older have complications don't always get a fever and I haven't had a fever in years that I know of, in decades.

I can't do it today because I'm waiting for the DirecTV guy to come out and see what's interfering up on my roof which I think I already know it's the tree. But maybe tomorrow if they are having them. I just do not feel like going and waiting in line in Dallas because it's just too long a line. but if the native American clinic gets it not many people should know about that because they haven't even notified their patients.

I'm enjoying what could be my last 2 weeks of working from home for a while, since as far as I know I have to go back to the office on June 1. I'm hoping WFH is extended, or at least those of us who can easily work from home will be able to continue - but making plans to go back in case I must. If so, we'll relocate from my house in the 'burbs to my boyfriend's apartment in the city during the work week, since that'll shorten the commute to just 10 minutes, then weekends at my house.

I don't want to go to the office. I don't see any reason for me to go, and none of the benefits will outweigh the risk to myself and others. My job is 99% brain work on the computer, and video calls are working just fine for meetings. As I see it, I'll just be sitting there cooped up in a socially distanced office environment for no good reason.

The test is no big deal, even the one they stick up your nose.

i don’t know why people make it seem so terrible, it’s really not

Just had a team meeting via video, and while there's no official word yet, unofficial word is that the earliest we're likely to return to the office is late June, and probably into July. YAY!

Still pregnant, still staying home.  Thankful that it is almost over where I'm at.  Thankful that things are opening back up, and that our defense force will demobilize this Friday and my husband can spend more time with our family.  I'll relax more once the baby is born, which will be late June or early July.  Then I can do things a bit more normally.

Just wondering what the FALL will bring or more accurately NOT BRING.  I keep seeing the scenarios with NO FANS in the stands which is unbelievable

It’s been really cold here, so we’re lighting our fire these days, still working as normal as I have done the whole time, except for today I had my first zoom meeting, online training for our new analyser which we have just started using to validate it. Normally we have in person training, but the trainer is in Australia and can’t get to New Zealand yet, it went well.

I have tomorrow and Friday off work, tomorrow I plan on visiting the beautician for a wax and thread job, plus I will sort out my girls weekend away in early July, excited to be able to move around again, and I’m sure Queenstown needs us to visit while the foreign tourists can’t.

Friday I have an appointment with the doctor to get my stitches removed and my lab results from the mole I had removed the week before last.?

Hope things go well with your mole removal. I had on removed from my back last year that was precancerous.

If I remember correctly, you work in the biology field? Lab work?

Do you have an informed opinion on the odds of creating a vaccine for Covid? I read too many differing opinions and I don't have enough background to sort out fact from fancy.

I should be receiving my first batch of new lighting from Home Depot today (via UPS).  I picked two "can less" LED lights to go over the "Breakfast Bar" area of the kitchen counter.  I want to put the lighting in, before I start installing the new granite tile counter top.

When the lights come in, I'll do some testing & start planning out where to place them.  I think two 6 inch (992 lumen) lights should be enough for the "Breakfast Bar" area, but there is room for a third light, if two isn't enough.

My younger brother came over the last couple evenings and visited. I guess technically we observed social distancing most of the time but that's basically the norm anyway. It was nice. Other than that it's pretty much the same, except random people in stores respect my personal space almost the way I wish they always would have. Also Costco is requiring a mask and won't let my family (3 people) shop together, so I'm not buying nearly as much from them due to flying solo.

Onward and upward.

Yes schlumpy, I work in a microbiology lab.

I do think there is a lot of promise in finding a vaccine, it may take a while though. Initial trials are looking positive.

I did my bi-weekly store run today and I have to give my fellow Ohio citizens an A. I estimate nine out of ten people saw were wearing masks.

Must be a come to Jesus moment.

Dallas hit their all-time high for deaths in one day yesterday, and today I went and sat outside alone at my pizza place and watched people come and go without masks on, including delivery drivers with linens and that sort of thing.  There were maybe four people with masks on coming and going out of maybe a dozen.

That sounds like my state. My county has become a hot spot and has had a 47% increase in cases. The casinos opened this week, so I'm wondering how that will go. We are holding steady with our new cases. I went to the dentist Monday, and I told them I had taken care of COVID positive patients on Saturday, but I had PPE on. They were okay with it and let me in for my cleaning.

Besides working and trying to stay not only safe but sane? Still things I probably shouldn't be.

I had to go to the dentist yesterday and have to go back for my permanent crown next week.  I will be getting tested because that is the worst exposure I've had.  It was him and his wife up close for an hour and he's been working all over about 3 counties filling in, so he's had plenty of exposure.  I'm really worried.  I'm too high risk, but I didn't think I could ignore it when part of the filling fell out, though now I thought I could have because the rest was in there real good and he like to never got it out.

We have casinos on the Oklahoma border and they're run by tribes, and my healthcare is run by the same tribe as the biggest casino in the world, and people come from all over, but they're not reopened yet and I think it's a bad idea once they do.  It's already germy in there before this.  I have to go to my Native American federal hospital next week but I'm not too worried because the death and case rate for the county is very low.  I'm safer there than Dallas, that's for sure!  If I'm not already sick by then from exposure this week, I'll get tested while there.

Anyone watch Dr. Phil the last 3 days?  It was about this woman catfished and scammed out of money by 5 different people.  And I don't think they will ever convince her some of it wasn't real even though they brought the guys whose identities and photos were stolen on there to tell her they weren't the guys.  I thought at the end they would cart her away to institutional care, but they didn't, and I bet she'll just keep right on sending whoever writes her money.

What started as feeding one stray/feral cat has now turned into feeding a bunch of them..😂..I see a few different one's including the little black one..they will come around but not all at the same time and never before like 5:30 when things quiet down, but wont let me get close...The minute they see me come around they bolt...But I can spy on them from a distance...

Eh...as if I need another responsibility....whatever...As long as I am here they will eat...I even got them the premium stuff...they all must think they died and went to kitty heaven..

My new home is a lovely apartment, but the trees encourage the occasional tree roach and I don't want to spray just for that. So my pup and I took a good hour this am to trap one which came indoors when I watered my balcony plants...strangely satisfying, cathartic way of handling a small irritation!

That’s how they do. Kitties always brag to their friends when they’re getting taken care of. Especially the black ones. They’ll probably continue to come to you separately. They all need their special time teasing you and making you run after them. Make sure you give each of them the premium meat so that you don't cause jealousy and upheaval.

They no doubt chose 5:30 as a starting point to look for you, because they know your routine now a whole lot better than you know theirs. Hungry kitties are very cunning. Sure they’re gonna play hard to get, it’s the nature of the beast. Remember what I said before- slow and steady wins the race.

I imagine they’re secretly so thrilled when you spy on them even if they don’t show it. Perhaps binoculars would more convince them of your interest. Oh, and make sure your hands are always kept soft and held in an open position. Not only so they can see that you’re receptive, but also because kitties can be very sensitive to touch so you have to be ready to pet them like they like it when they give you the green light.

Did you use the soft voice with them like I told you to?

So cute, I'm reading your post with a goofy grin on my face. You really know your kitties.  I cosign all your advice.
