mortensorchid Posted February 8, 2020 Posted February 8, 2020 I decided to give things another shot so I uploaded Tinder and Bumble on my phone. Tinder? I did meet a few people with Tinder a few years ago but they turned out to be one time OLDs. Now? I go through it and swipe left or right and sometimes I will get a match that says (Name) it's a match. And ... I never hear from this person, not even a "hi how are you". Bumble? I'm not sure what the deal is with Bumble but in some cases I will say "hi how are you" and no response. There were 2 or 3 I was chatting with here and there. And they all asked me something weird sex wise - one asked me if I was bi, another asked if I would dominate him. I have nothing on the profile that suggests this to be the case. Next. Has anyone tried Coffe Meets Bagel? I uploaded it and am considering. Results?
Interstellar Posted February 8, 2020 Posted February 8, 2020 (edited) I vaguely heard about that Coffee meets Bagel app. Sounds intriguing for sure. Certainly worth a try, it can’t hurt right? from a male perspective if it doesn’t work out he’s only down 8-10 bucks, and if you’re a celebrity there’s always that Raya app but that’s by invitation only. Gr8fuln2020 Posted February 8, 2020 Posted February 8, 2020 I have been interested in Coffee Meets Bagel, but wondered how it was different from other free apps where you connect and meet for coffee? I cannot imagine the dating pool to be too different from app to app unless there is some monetary premium involved.
salparadise Posted February 8, 2020 Posted February 8, 2020 (edited) I downloaded it a year or two ago. It has some kind of point system or tokens that you earn/buy to enable the basic functionality (views, messages, etc.), so I deleted it almost immediately. As if this whole dating game isn’t enough of a pain in the ass already. Edited February 8, 2020 by salparadise 2
ccas93 Posted February 8, 2020 Posted February 8, 2020 I can't stand Bumble. It's honestly the worst dating app IMO and I've deleted it. Honestly I think Tinder is substantially better (probably a controversial opinion). Hinge is also a really good one.
Erik30 Posted February 8, 2020 Posted February 8, 2020 (edited) I think the app might work for some women. Guys get to swipe about 20 profiles a day, while women are being presented with 5 men who already liked them. So it's always a match if you're a woman using the app. (I don't know what happens if nobody likes you) For most guys Coffee meets Bagel is basically like a worse version of Tinder. You're getting less likes and very few women are actually seeing your profile... unless you pay of course. I wasn't even able to use the app properly because it's completely dead in my country. The basic version is free so you might as well give it a try. Edited February 8, 2020 by Erik30
Twizzlestick Posted February 8, 2020 Posted February 8, 2020 In the U.K. coffee meets bagel is a waste of time and crap. Bumble is utter rubbish in the U.K too. The very principle they think makes it a good idea also stops it working. Plenty of fish I gave up with ages ago - dross. Tinder and Hinge are only ones I use now. 1
Miss Spider Posted February 9, 2020 Posted February 9, 2020 (edited) I tried it once and it was just too confusing. You have to collect coffee beans to talk to people or something and I had no idea how to do that. I feel like any dating app that makes it more difficult for people to meet will ultimately be beat by its competitors that make it easy as possible Edited February 9, 2020 by Cookiesandough
