I am considering doing a LinkedIn profile as I have been told it can be useful for obtaining work and networking.

I am not a fan of social media (facebook, twitter, etc) and have made a conscious effort to avoid it partly because its not for me but also to avoid seeing any information about an ex.

We used to work together and also used to have some mutual friends and I am weary about coming across her profile.

We broke up over 10 years ago, I took the break up hard and have been on NC since we broke up.

Any thoughts or ideas on how to manage the situation if I do come across her profile? Really do not fancy seeing her profile. Ignorance is bliss as they say.

You can't let a 10 year old break up prevent you from advancing in your career.  Linked In Profiles are geared toward work.  They don't have life updates but biographical resume info.

If you do see her, block her on the site & move along.  You don't have to connect with her even if you are in the same industry.

Don't click on it--it will tell her who has looked at her profile.

if she appears, just click the X and keep it moving.
