I live in one of the US largest cities, no civil unrest here and we've had several major disasters.

you make your home environment sound sinister! Why do you need checkpoints?

Ya. I know right? I know MM lives in the rural South but I always thought that would be the type of place where life would continue quite orderly. I live in the rural west in a white hot zone and it had been very peaceful and orderly.

https://www.axios.com/scoop-bayer-to-donate-potential-coronavirus-drug-to-us-cc8c1a5a-6a14-4e36-8b07-07eccf4eff36.html

"Pharma company Bayer will soon make a large donation to the U.S. government of a drug that has shown some promise in helping patients suffering from the novel coronavirus, according to a senior Health and Human Services official and another source with direct knowledge.

Why it matters: It doesn't hurt to have a potential treatment on hand, but we're still a very long way from having an approved, clinically tested treatment for the coronavirus.

The big picture: Early evidence suggests that chloroquine — an inexpensive anti-malarial drug — may work just as well, if not even better, than remdesivir, a drug owned by Gilead, which is undergoing clinical trials for treatment of the coronavirus."

Please take a look at this page.  There is a lot more to what's going on in Singapore,  and worldwide, for that matter, than one can see in pictures taken by a family member.

This post will be held up due to the link, but it's very educational to see the way the cases build.  Lots of info.

I believe that many of us are grasping at straws because we need comfort, but they're still straws.

Pantry is temporarily closed. We are busy restocking.

Due to high order volumes, Pantry is not accepting new orders at this time. This means that items listed as “Ships & Sold from Pantry” cannot be added to your cart. We apologize for this inconvenience, and are working with our partners to get these items back in stock as quickly as possible.

Amazon Pantry finally went down.

MY environment is great.  It is everybody else that we (and our officials) would like to keep out.  You wouldn't believe how many city folks I have heard over the years who said something like "well when it gets bad I will just head out into the country. "  Yeah.  Good luck with that one....

low risk for encountering a patient with coronavirus

How do you define "low risk"?  I was kinda thinking like that because I live in a very rural area, very small town, far from the fray, and yesterday the County announced three confirmed positives and one in our town specifically.  I don't think there is such a thing as low risk right now.  We have absolutely no idea who is/how many people are walking around carrying this thing.

A 21-year-old Spanish soccer coach died from the coronavirus after finding out he had undiagnosed leukemia while he was in hospital

Quote

Francisco Garcia, a 21-year-old Spanish soccer coach, was admitted to hospital on Friday March 13 after suffering coronavirus symptoms, according to Malaga Hoy.

Quote

After being diagnosed with COVID-19, he was also told he was suffering from an undiagnosed form of leukemia.

Quote

He died on Sunday, becoming Spain's youngest victim of the virus.

Lads, I'm starting to think that COVID-19 is a Chinese creation made with the purpose of bringing down the western economy and population, to make it easier for their economy and military forces to take over the USA and Europe. Don't quote me on that. It's just a suspicion but I can't shake it off.

This is the type of information that is not reliable. It names no specific source and it's not an announcement  directly on Bayer's website or on the Health and Human Services website.

Bill Gates donated $100 millions to help with the corona virus issue. Let's see how much money Jeff Bezos.

First let's see if he's going to give his workers paid ''holidays' instead of appealing to his workers to donate their sick days off to each other 🤣

I work in cardiology, so we have a lot of elective procedures. Last night, I started thinking that they will probably cancel those procedures. They could pull me to a different part of the hospital. So I guess I don't know if I will be in a low risk area anymore.

Do you live in a religious compound?

Are you free to come and go as you please or are the checkpoints to keep you in as well as people out?

I worry about you @major_merrick

How is the lady with the anxiety problems?

Mormon communities are probably going to get infected since many of them aren't against shopping at wallmart and making use of other services.

Agree, cite the source.

Where the drug companies can help immediately is work together, firstly to ensure all citizens get access to meds they need and to share information about local and national shortages. Then long-term to share information on developing medicines and vaccines.

All this has shown us that cooperation and advancement of science is what is important- not excessive profits.

I'll go with you on the Chinese creation part. It's not called the Wuhan flu for nothing.

Sweetie, just walking through the hospital to get to your area exposes you.  Again, you don't know who does or does not have it and being in a hospital environment, where sick people would be going and not tested, puts you at risk.  I'm surprised you haven't been issued a mask at least.  Or, have you?

I assumed it was popular already and would scale out but I guess I was wrong. I used to treat LA like the cesspool it was and had everything delivered by various services but I guess my disgust wasn't widely shared.

Your isolation seems to be getting to you.

What are you doing for self-care? What are you doing to occupy yourself positively?

So I have no work today...boo!  I’m going to work outside to start to spring clean my yard and if it begins to rain I’m going to spring clean inside instead.

I wonder what time the liquor store opens.

A hundred push-ups a day, 15 miles on the treadmill,  shower 2 times a day, wash my hands 10 times a day 🤣

Watching Nicolas Cage movies, reading books, and playing video games, just chilling on youtube listening to music videos and reading forums.
