And l don't see how they can ever avoid or stop things like more viruses or so many other things either because once again everything we do the way we live or say in this one, like millions of people criss crossing the globe in hours from anywhere on the planet daily and doubling by the year and sending all these things where they weren't meant to go, once again goes completely against the natural scheme like everything else we do.

The Spanish flu came to an end when the massing of infected troops criss crossing the globe stopped when the war ended.
Here we have populations who are chomping at the bit to get back on a plane and go on holiday...  sheer madness.
We in the UK are  still importing people from all over the world daily in the middle of a pandemic...
This is a ,huge problem and I am not sure how it can end until we stop constant reinfection from all corners of the globe.
We hope for "herd immunity", we hope for an effective vaccine, neither are a given.

In Houston we've all had that thought with every flood 😄

Depends on the boat I guess, a solitary boat would be nice ⛵

With no television!

no the boat has a TV, a bedroom a small galley but of course you don't have the turn the TV on...but it wouldn't be much fun to sail alone

that's the problem plus having to eventually come back to shore for provisions....see no PLAN is flawless

maybe just a little cruising today

Yeah it's just mind boggling isn't it , the rediculous contradiction in it all . it all should just stop , right now , at least for awhile , we know that'd be the best we could expect , awhile,  if at all. Just praying for a vaccine myself seems as they won't do what really needs to be done , best hope l think .

Yes, it seems a strange one how some people get it some don't.

I was explained by medic friends that 30% of those who get it are asymptomatic so we probably did. This is all the more reason to be extra careful of those around you.

Lads and Ladies, have you seen what is happening in the Philippines?

The dictator of the Philippines has order the state police and the army to shoot people dead on sight if they leave their houses. That's right. If you or I were to leave the house to buy bread, the cops and the army could literally shoot me dead and nothing would happen to them, and they'd probably get medals for it.

People can't go to the hospitals to get treated for the corona virus because they either don't have the equipment, doctors, expertise, medication, or the hospitals are already full.

There are thousands, maybe tens of thousands of people dying in their houses from the virus, and the healthcare authorities do not go to their houses to remove the bodies.

That is why what the UE urges people to not leave the house at all, if they don't have to, because a guy could display no signs of having the virus while being infected.

Social distance. Avoid all people as much as possible, but lots of people don't care and keep going about their lives as if this was Christmas bloody day.

That is why there is a shoot to kill policy in the Philippines.
Troublemakers will not be tolerated.
I guess they will not be the only country in the world that will have to resort to such extreme measures to control their population in the face of the pandemic.

Geez, I was talking about Europe, not the Phillipines when I mentioned that people don't respect the quarentine.

People in the Phillipines are acting the way they're acting because they haven't received food and water and medication in weeks and weeks. People are starving to death. If the Hitler-wannabe that rules over the islands actually did the job he stole, properly, people wouldn't be outside trying to find something to eat.

No.

Iran, yes. Brazil, yes. Africa, yes. Europe, Australia and the North American continent will not do what Rodrigo Duterte is doing to his own people.

👍  Actually that is how almost all contagious respiratory viruses and bacteria spread, some are just more contagious than others,...those that are not spread by insect vectors.

I heard from my new employer where I was planning to go in to the office on Monday, as last I heard that was the deal. They said they're working on a remote new hire orientation process for new hires during this time to avoid contact. So looks like I'll be able to continue working from home. Hallelujah!

My boyfriend commented that the cute wardrobe I've been working on via online ordering will now be unnecessary. Perhaps - but it can't be like this forever, can it? I'll need those cute clothes eventually. I could always wear them on my video calls!

Awful. The country is not listed among third world countries, but it probably should. In 2018 they had 26,000 cases of tubercolosis. And they're still battling it. They want to get rid of it by 2035 (talking about taking it easy...)

He is, thank you. It looks like his sister and I swerved it for some reason.

What I really want to know is whether we are going to take heed of this call of Nature, or whether we are going to 'return to normal' like nothing's happened when this blows over, like the sheeple we are, with useless economic wars and sanctions crippling other nations so we get cheap oil, hyper consumerism, bigotry, religious hatred, racism, manufactured 24/7 news... The more I see what some gvts are getting away with while no-one's looking by granting themselves full powers, the less hope I have. I just don't know low 'we' must sink as a collective before 'we' find our humanity again...

I'm sorry to say but I believe this is going to be the case.

Even now, when we are barely into this,  I've seen significant relaxing among average people in public.  Because stores like Walmart and Home Depot are considered "essential." as they sell food and other things deemed necessities like hardware,  folks have taken to just going there and "shopping" as an outing, similar to a trip to the mall to look around and hang out in pre-Covid days.  Not respecting space, handling all the merchandise, etc.

My sister and I were talking (on the phone) about how things will look after this crisis phase has passed.  Would general social distancing and maybe mask wearing become a new norm?  Probably not.   "Sheeple" will be very prepared to just go back to "normal" if they are given the go-ahead.  Our US culture values the ability to make and compile money above all things, followed by the ability to acquire more stuff.  Anything that would restrict this won't get any support from higher government.  Just a couple of weeks ago, remember?  We (Americans) were being told that we need to get back to work to SAVE the country for the young people, and even to sacrifice lives to do it.

When all the peaking is done, there will still be a vast majority of people who have not been infected with this virus.  The high risk people will still be high risk, just more able to be treated in hospitals in a "normal" way.  A significant gap is anticipated between the main peaks being past and a vaccine being developed and widely available.  I mean ... tests exist, and we still can't have them unless we are in bad condition or "special" (pro athletes,  political figures, famous people, probably rich people). There seems to be zero movement towards the availability of widespread testing to identify asymptomatic people or those carrying antibodies, so we'll still be winging it insofar as spreading the virus is concerned.

On a very slightly more hopeful note, I do think that some medical treatments for the very sick will come sooner than widespread testing (which I don't believe will ever happen under the current administration) and a vaccine.

you can still wear those clothes inside your house. Just because I'm not going out doesn't mean that's an excuse to stop being cute.

Not sure where you’re getting your info but everyone around me is in lockdown. I have kids in Illinois, North Carolina and Florida. They are in lockdown as well. Same with a friend in California.

All hospitals in the area have delayed surgery etc and are in lockdown as well.

Believing in the news media in today’s world is pretty naive.

I don't think that Florida was in lockdown on March 24.

Yeah, I'd ,love to be out at sea too. Can't even go to the beach, as it's illegal to do so these days.

A stunning admission of deadly ignorance from Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp, who says he only just learned that asymptomatic people can transmit #Covid19. “Individuals could have been infecting people before they ever felt bad, but we didn’t know that until the last 24 hours.”  Most people knew that weeks ago.

It seems kind of weird to wear a stylish, girly dress - most of my new outfits are pretty, professional dresses - relaxing in the house. But sure, maybe it would be fun 😆

Right now I'm chillin in my shimmery teal blue dance tights and a tank top. I felt compelled to wear something cute cuz my boyfriend's prancing around in nothing but tight little black briefs distracting me haha With the extra down time, he's been working out extra hard lately, no restaurant food so super clean, and he is lookin mighty fine 🤤

It will, be patient.

If we're somewhere with clean water and a safe roof it's not the end of the world to be bored for a few days. Worry and panic- that will have a longer-lasting effect beyond the pandemic...

It's surreal here today, there are gardeners wandering around all over the estate doing the grass and leaf-blowing, despite the shut down. Maybe they are deemed essential business, I don't know, but I wish they'd f- off. They're sending up piles of dust and fumes and making a lot of noise. And clearly associating in larger groups than we've been asked.

I'd ban noisy things like leaf-blowers anyway, it's such a zen thing to do in comparison, sweep with a broom...🧹

I read people are buying a lot more tops than bottoms these days due to the teleconferencing. Makes sense in the short term I guess.

"They" were telling us that it was spread by someone when they cough the droplets out into the air and having them linger it the air to be breathed in and by touching surfaces.  Now "they" are saying that it's spread by simply talking and breathing not projectiled and that's a lot different and significantly worse.
