Personality is what does it for me too. Don't care what you look like, can you carry it off... 1
Banana Bender Posted January 24, 2020 Posted January 24, 2020 So what exactly is the point of this thread? The OP posited it as a question, but then proceeded to rip into and rant at anybody that tried to answer. As a general rule, it comes down to culture and how you compare to the cultural norms. Or at least the norms of the man's culture. To the OP, from the little you have told us, I think most men would have a bigger issue with your apparent attitude than your appearance. And if you're talking purely about shallow physical attraction, then honestly, men are mostly interested in your breasts and buttocks. 6
Haydn Posted January 24, 2020 Posted January 24, 2020 This is a very entertaining thread. It went from `Broad women` to pro weight lifting to `Endomorph` to `Mesomorph` Mate, stick to Xenomorphs. 2

Who cares what number is on the scale. Muscles weigh more than fat ! At 5'4', and 160-lbs I dress a size 8, that's far from being *fat*. It's all about your muscle mass and how you carry your weight. Look at Kim Kardashian, apparently she is 120-lbs, noway in hell lol. she says she wears a size 14!!! She is probably around 160-lbs +. Let me remind you her middle name is 'sexiness' When I was down to 120-lbs I wore a size 2-4 ! So she's lying but like I said who cares. Sexiness comes in all body types and sizes. 1

You guys are killing me... Of course I know muscle weighs more than fat....duh...someone my weight and height would be considered morbidly obese if it wasn't for muscle weight... But again...You are going to stand here and tell me that 160 isn't a lot for a woman of your stature, yet Serena Williams(who I am 100% sure has more muscle mass than you) and is 5" taller weighs 150....See the issue here? And just for shyts and giggles I looked up what Tulsi Gabbard weighs and her height...She is quite fit as well and shows some muscle development....She's 5'8" nd 143...And what's notable is neither of those women would be considered really lean or ripped.....They certainly have a bit of meat on them... And don't give me the dress size BS....Dress sizes for women are never consistent....My mom probably the same dress size you are at the same age and weighed 35/40 lb less.. I get it....guys like women of all shapes and sizes...and I am not here to make anyone feel like they aren't dateable or anything....But let's not distort things to such a degree that its ridiculous...The numbers don't add up... Miss Spider Posted January 24, 2020 Posted January 24, 2020 But Kim k is also on the short side (5’2”, 5’3”) I’m 5’6 and 120 lbs. I’m thin but still kind of curvy. So it makes sense to me Kim would be even more curvy. She carries her weight in particular...areas( what’s real, anyway) But yes, some people have larger frames, some have more muscle, some carry their weight differently. But 5’4 160lbs and size 8 dress would mean OP is super duper jacked to account for that many lbs 1

nospam99 Posted January 24, 2020 Posted January 24, 2020 @CO. Danny Amendola, NFL WR for 12 years, listed at 5-11/185. Both he and Serena are professional athletes, all muscle, no fat. Muscle may weigh more than fat. But if the VOLUME of the person's body is low enough, tissue density is less of a factor in what they weigh. (I could find other NFL guys who are similarly 'low' weight - LOL puts ME is my place :p .) 1

Its easy to believe it....Just do an image search of her, there are several in tights and a sportsbra….after the baby no less..I can easily buy that..... Sure, she looks big, but its an illusion...There is almost no 'extra" mass that most regular people carry around...Whats there is just clean lean muscle for the most part...Most people that are overweight sometimes get frustrated that even though they may have lost 25/30 lbs its not all that noticeable...The reason is that the fat is distributed all over the body... I don't want to continue this, nor am I claiming that is any standard to meet these are world class champion athletes who are constantly in training and dieting.. ….My only point is that when people claim that they are heavy because of genes, big bones, muscle mass, whatever...in most cases its just not true...They just don't realize how much extra fat that they are carrying around...that;s all..And there isn't anything really wrong with it, either as long as people are happy and healthy... Ellener Posted January 24, 2020 Posted January 24, 2020 I'm just under 150 pounds and my doctor says I'm now underweight and she's concerned. I'm 5'8 and have brittle type two diabetes. It does seem that once you get sick the body works against the doctor and medicines, everything has its side effects. 28 minutes ago, thefooloftheyear said: My only point is that when people claim that they are heavy because of genes, big bones, muscle mass, whatever...in most cases its just not true...They just don't realize how much extra fat that they are carrying around...that;s all..And there isn't anything really wrong with it, either as long as people are happy and healthy... Amen. At my biggest I was 265 pounds, I'm not saying it was super healthy but I was very happy also I RAN AND WALKED EVERY SINGLE DAY!!! I was way fitter from a cardio point of view than I am now.
Andy_K Posted January 24, 2020 Posted January 24, 2020 So back on topic.... aside from the argument of whether OP genuinely fits the template she's describing, I think most guys will be perfectly willing to date a bigger framed woman, provided she's in shape. I see women who fall into this category all the time at the gym... you can tell from the structure of the face and shoulders that they'll never look like a skinny model, but some of them work really hard and look great nonetheless. That kind of dedication always impresses me.
Kitty Tantrum Posted January 24, 2020 Posted January 24, 2020 I know what you mean about being heavy but not looking fat. I'm 5'4" and currently at 175-180 lbs I look chubby. But at 160 I look pretty slender, and at 140 people start looking concerned and telling me I need to eat more. I'm not broad in the shoulders, but I guess my build is... dense. The older of my two boys is the same way. When he was still small enough to tote around, people would be like "omg he's tiiiiny" and then I'd hand him over and they'd be like "OOF, where does he keep all that WEIGHT?" Shrug. I think the important thing is to keep yourself well-conditioned to a wide variety of physical activity and put in an effort to accentuate your feminine qualities. There are guys out there who are only interested in a certain particular body type, but there are plenty who are less picky. One of my former employees is a very sturdy, broad-shouldered gal. Not the kind you'd expect to see tarted up at the bar shaking her butt and getting free drinks thrown at her - but she's got a good man who loves her and an adorable little family.

The biggest risk of contemplating a LTR with such a person is that they are often disposed toward gaining weight easily. Draw your own conclusions and then make your choices. As far as here and now, it can be damn sexy, just my opinion.
rjc149 Posted January 25, 2020 Posted January 25, 2020 Hefty, "big-boned," zaftig, thickly built, I think these are all just synonyms. No, you don't fit the conventional 'girly girl' frame, but I wouldn't consider you to be "fat" based on your provided stats. I am getting a somewhat masculine jock demeanor from your posts, however. I think that may be factoring more into your dating and your ability to attract men than your physical appearance.
Interstellar Posted January 25, 2020 Posted January 25, 2020 (edited) Darn, a woman who’s 5’4,160. Jesus, I’m 5’7,160. I’d like to know your deadlift 1 rep max (the most that you can lift)? and your bench press, and squat numbers too. Hahah...just kidding. That’s pretty big for a woman. I’m real curious to know what you look like or your body fat percentage. Edit: I just read the thread again. 200 lb shoulder press huh? is this with a barbell? that’s cool if it is. ccas93 Posted January 25, 2020 Posted January 25, 2020 (edited) 26 year old man here, and 5'4'' 160 is right up my alley. You sound like most of the women I've dated in my life, and I love that body type. I like "broad women" that are physically strong are very sexy to me. But I am physically strong myself, so maybe that's where my preferences come from. I know a lot of guys with strong athletic backgrounds often love the robust, healthy body types, even if the body weight is considered high for their height. As for the 200 lb shoulder press. Videos, or it didn't happen. Edited January 25, 2020 by ccas93
