Women like guys that are taller and bigger than they are and men like the opposite...It is what it is.... TFY I'm not typical of the average body stature. There's a difference between simple muscle & bone / muscular. It's why the BMI is a horrific scale for anyone of Northern Germanic or old Central European background because the damn thing is based off of Mediterraneans & E. Asiatics about as solid as twigs in comparison. As said I could make 140lb without looking as if a starved twit. https://www.newsbreak.ng/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/feat-768x471.jpg. Inverted triangles don't really have curves.
FMW Posted January 23, 2020 Posted January 23, 2020 Since you responded that your dating experience is similar to that of slender women, why are you asking? I'm not sure guys would be intimidated by your build, just maybe for some you aren't their type. Which is true of pretty much everyone - very few people are going to be attractive to everyone, we all have our preferences. Look around - people of all shapes, sizes, builds, height, weight, etc. are paired up. 2

I'm not either. When I was about 40, and admittedly not a lean person any more, I got my SCUBA certification for Open Water. One of the exercises, in a pool deep end, was to float vertically to illustrate "how close to the air" a person's nose and mouth naturally are. This was followed by some minimum energy survival style breathing and floating practice. In the class we had mostly typical slim or skinny but not very athletic people. Pretty people, attractive people, people who look great in clothes. I easily looked to be the 'biggest' one. Every one of them floated with the waterline somewhere around their nose or eyes. The crown of my head was all that showed. I don't know why exactly, but I always weigh heavier than I look, lean or fat. It's unusual. I'm also unusually strong, always have been. It's just a thing. If you have good results dating as you say, I'd advise you to not worry about it unless a medical professional says you have some specific health risk. 1
Gaeta Posted January 23, 2020 Posted January 23, 2020 Men don't all like the same type of women. Some like them skinny, others with curves, others prefer them overweight. You are asking a bunch of people to judge your body shape so if 10 people answer this, you'll get 10 different answers. What we like is unique. I have been thin, I have been fat, I have been in between, and I had no problem dating in any of these shapes. 4

He's a natural mesomorph & very strong (e.g. lifting 100lb barbells, no steroids when younger/gym goer). Where he's from in the UK even before genetic research (confirmed in a way by legit genetic research not 23&me, a local has 7 times the saxon/viking dna as he did celtic) it was seen by historians/researchers as a rather teutonic region & to be a bit silly if you thought of a Viking he'd fit the stature/mold. I inherited his stature. Solid/heavy bone & solid/broad torso. Strong. I'm not fat. I am actually quite physically fit. I don't have something like a man's jaw or anything like that (my features get a lot of compliments actually) it's just I'm no slim, no real bone (or muscle) mass, girlie girl. An ex-girlfriend of mine was a 36DD, hourglass shape and ever since we split up I’ve had it pretty bad for girls who are “big boned”. That to me is a womanly figure and my preference is to totally date a woman not a little girl with no boobs and a thin frame. Funnily enough though yours is the type of female physique you see least on online dating (in the UK at least) so I would say you are actually lucky in that respect! It’s either varying degrees of skinny or varying degrees of fat. A woman who has some meat on her bones but is all in proportion (ie broad back, big frame, boobs, hips, flattish stomach because the weight is distributed) is so hard to find and it’s really frustrating for me personally because I struggle to be physically attracted to any other kind of female physique. Just my luck! So whilst you might not be everyone’s cup of tea (and even the most perfect amongst us aren’t- that’s life) if I were you I’d be pretty happy that for the type of guys who go for your type of figure you have basically cornered the market! There's implied indication big = fat in some comments but he's the most obvious one. Actually I didn't realize that "endomorph = fat"; apologies if I offended you. It appears if you are a mesomorph, you have the "ideal" body shape, but yet you are concerned about it, which is why I asked. However, it must be some of the subtleties of your particular individual physique that you are concerned with. At any rate, I hope you take the earlier comments about giving off a friendly, flirty, vibe etc to heart as those things will attract many men. Although it's certainly true that men are visual creatures, I do know plenty of actually overweight women who have BFs and husbands. So personality/positivity should have a big impact as well. 1

preraph Posted January 23, 2020 Posted January 23, 2020 I just looked up the average height and weight for women over 20 in the United States and it's 5ft 3in and 170 lbs, so for what it's worth your build is average in the United States, and plenty of average women find mates.
elaine567 Posted January 23, 2020 Posted January 23, 2020 This is the same problem some rugby players run into, their BMI is a big number, but they are not fat, they are big men with big heavy bones and a whole load of muscle. The 160lbs here is a red herring, it means nothing and conclusions drawn are thus inaccurate.

Like said the stature's the issue not the personality or looks. I am & look fit. It can be intimidating to some guys whose MO is rather petite girls but all in all there's really no terrible deviation. Weight, what was the question? You can bench 200 lbs, leg press 375 and run track? Sprint/dash, cross country? In your own words you are athletic and agile/pretty and lean; only some men who prefer petite women aren't into you. Is there a particular man who has caught your fancy or you want to rectify petite>attraction? 3 1

FMW Posted January 23, 2020 Posted January 23, 2020 I'm 5'8", usually considered tall for a woman. My weight fluctuates, and right now is higher than I'd like because I'm a stress eater and my job has been a real bear lately. But, at the risk of sounding obnoxious, I seem to be getting MORE attention from men than ever. Not every man certainly - but plenty seem to appreciate the added fullness in certain areas. Or at least not have a problem with it. So again, it's all about individual tastes. Someone who likes tiny petite women wouldn't look twice at me. But who would want attention from EVERY man any way

RecentChange Posted January 23, 2020 Posted January 23, 2020 In my experience, men tend to be attracted to women they could easily beat in a wrestling match. And women vice versa - aren't attracted to men who are smaller / weaker than they are. I am 5'6" and have a bigger than average frame, I have wide shoulders for instance, but I am not as bulky as what you described (thank goodness I got my mother's nice legs). I have used the "wrestling match" analogy to reject guys "sorry, I feel like o could beat you at wrestling match". I am not attracted to guys who are smaller than I am. 2

I just said my father lifted 100lb barbells one handed with no steroids & broke apart granite boulders while lying fence. Don't need PEDs (weaklings drugs). As for competitive training. Have you never in your life met anyone from South & Central Europe? Ever? Specifically close to the Pontiac region (e.g. Bulgarians). Some of them are built like tanks & they don't need PEDs. It's a natural deposition to just put on thick heavy muscular. Far more than natural & impressive than any gym monkey could achieve with PEDs.

As I said to thefooloftheyear there's people who are predisposed to be naturally strong or develop heavy muscle. Even with a shoulder damaged by a SLAP tear & having not gone to a gym in a decade I can still push a shoulder pressure to 75lbs if I ignore the pain. The average gym going female I've seen does 25-40lbs.

Allupinnit Posted January 24, 2020 Posted January 24, 2020 My sister is a tank and a crossfit coach. She's incredibly muscular, small-chested and not petite at all. She dates other crossfit coaches who share her passion for lifting and fitness, who find her shape attractive and as a personal accomplishment. She's had no problem with men at all. Have you thought about dating other like-minded men? You ask what men find attractive, but then turn right around and try to defend your figure. I'm sure you look fantastic, and very attractive to heavy-weight types such as your dad. Understand that not every guy cares that your dad can smash pipes and punch through concrete.
