guest569 Posted December 28, 2019 Posted December 28, 2019 Any ideas for a first date outfit? It's boiling hot weather and a trendy but casual dinner date venue, with a young man. I don't do heels. While we are here, how about New Year's Eve?
introverted1 Posted December 28, 2019 Posted December 28, 2019 Cute skirt + blouse and flat sandals. Something casual but feminine. 2
Wanderlust2018 Posted December 28, 2019 Posted December 28, 2019 I’m a guy, but will weigh in... I live in a part of the world where it gets very hot in the summer and have always been partial to women wearing a nice sun dress or a nice romper style outfit. One of my past girlfriends would wear both, some were fancy higher end brands and some were from Target. Either way, she always looked amazing and gorgeous... Come to think of it, now I’m going to look her up! Kidding... On NYE, I suggest wear whatever makes you feel good and beautiful. Same rule applies to above. I think it’s more about how the clothes make you feel in them...short of pjs or sweats...haha. I own plenty of dressy clothes, but I tend to be a jeans kind of guy and wear them to just about anything and everything. That said, I have plenty of really nice blazers, shoes and bold pocket squares that dress my jeans up quickly and very nicely. 3

K.K. Posted December 28, 2019 Posted December 28, 2019 For the casual date wear a flowy wrap dress that cinches just right at the waist. Light solid color. None of those big flowery patterns that make you look a hyacinth threw up on you. I know you said you don’t like heels but at least wear some strappy sandals with a tiny heel at least. A woman’s walk looks a lot sexier in heels than it does flapping along in flats like you’re trying to put out a fire every few steps.
smackie9 Posted December 28, 2019 Posted December 28, 2019 Go to one of the local shops and get a sales woman pick out a few things that are trending ....go from there. I would say a dress would be appropriate and nice leather sandals , maybe a cute hat. 1
OatsAndHall Posted December 29, 2019 Posted December 29, 2019 From a male perspective, I just like to see a woman wearing an outfit they're comfortable in (outside of workout gear, pjs, obviously). A woman in fashionable jeans and a form fitting t-shirt (a little tight but not too tight) is sexy to me. 2
Happy Lemming Posted December 29, 2019 Posted December 29, 2019 What about a cute sun dress with spaghetti straps... maybe in red?? As far as shoes, I like K.K.'s idea of strappy sandals with a tiny heal. 2
greymatter Posted December 29, 2019 Posted December 29, 2019 Just had to say I hear you about the heels. Not only are they uncomfortable but to me they are ugly. All of them. I also don't wear dresses or skirts. My advice is to wear what you look best in and also feels like "you," whatever that is. 1
Author guest569 Posted December 30, 2019 Author Posted December 30, 2019 The past 5 guys have flaked out on a first date and this recent one nearly stood me up. But I'm sure I'll get to show off my wardrobe eventually.

Ellener Posted January 3, 2020 Posted January 3, 2020 I'm starting to wear stuff all the time I feel good in, which for me is either flattering comfortable sports stuff ( I am a lot outdoors ) or slightly dressy. 1
d0nnivain Posted January 5, 2020 Posted January 5, 2020 You can always wear nice capris or long shorts & a fun top. 1
preraph Posted January 5, 2020 Posted January 5, 2020 (edited) if I was young and looked good in it, I would wear a sleeveless dress or sundress. It could be long or short. And dressy sandals or wedges. If I didn't look good just wasn't used to wearing something like that, I would wear some kind of sheer flowy colorful feminine blouse over unfaded dark wash or white jeans or pants. Smiley, I vote for a summery dress. IMO women have more options for nice date outfits in hot weather than men do. 1
