Mine takes me out regularly and just like he would for anyone else he cares about he buys me gifts for Christmas, my birthday, Mother’s Day, etc. He’s a real sweetheart. Giving gifts is one of our languages of love, so we’ve always done it. I can’t really distinguish between the gifts he gives me now, as his wife, and those he gave me when he was married to his xW. It’s the same relationship, and how we’ve treated each other has been the same throughout. 1
Poppy47 Posted January 4, 2020 Posted January 4, 2020 xMM never gave me money. I used to cook lunch or dinners at my place when he came over. He would reciprocate by buying lunch or dinner when we went out. We gave each other gifts when we could. There was no transactional feeling about any of it. If either of us had needed financial help, the other would have stepped up for sure with no worries. Poppy

Sometimes he brings over a bottle of wine and I take care of the food, but I don't see that as "accepting money". Thankfully, I'm financially stable so I don't really need the additional support.
