Told my (27F) bf (35) about the outing with my friends and he forgot about it.

Some context, my boyfriend seldom meets my friends because he felt really shy about it. He was okay to meet this particular group of friends of mine. We agreed to go on a short overseas trip on one of the weekends in December. 

 

During a quarrel, he brought up that he didn’t want to go. Which is childish AF I felt. So I told them and they were understanding. I thought that they’d go ahead without us, but they cancelled the trip saying that all of us should go together because they see us as one family. 

The trip was cancelled and changed into a christmas outing instead. He knew about it because again whenever we quarrel, he’d say he didn’t want to go and told me to go alone.  
 

Just yesterday, I told him about the event on Sat. He said, he forgot and booked a weekend trip with his bros. He looked like he really forgot and was thinking about how to salvage it. 

Honestly, I was fuming mad. I just decided to keep quiet and see what he has to say. For now, I’m still angry at him but I don’t know if I’m doing and feeling the right thing. 

 

He hasn’t met this group of bros for a long time so I don’t blame him. This is the first time he forgot. He has been having a lot on his plate lately too. What I’m angry was that, he knew that we’ve something planned (or he really forget), and he still decided to go ahead with another set of plans. 
 

Also, we’ve always spent the weekends together so it has become our tradition to sort of inform each other in advance if we can’t make it. 

 

Am I being selfish or is he the one in the wrong? 

Tl; dr: boyfriend made other plans after he confirmed plans with my friends.

He didn't want to go & he basically blew it off.  I'd be furious too.

Before you decide to marry him, keep all this stuff written down to remind yourself how he can't compromise and must always do things his way. That just isn't going to fly if you guys have a family. He'll have to do a lot of things he doesn't want to do, some think real hard about that before you make excuses for him and are facing a lifetime of dragging him behind you and your family to get him to participate. None of this was accidental on his part.

It doesn't sound, going by what you've written, that your boyfriend is interested in traveling anywhere with you or meeting any of your friends. Are you sure you're in a relationship with him?  It sounds like this is more to you than it is to him.

 

I'd get straight on that tip with a quickness.

No he didn't forget, he didn't want to go. Sounds like this quarrel was a tipping point that he's not sure he wants to invest in the relationship anymore. I have a feeling he's waiting til after Christmas.

He blew you off. What was the reason, though? If he's normally reliable in making plans with you, but doesn't want to see your friends, then maybe they don't treat him well? If that isn't the problem, then it's him. You probably know whether it's your friends that are the problem, or him.

Maybe he doesn't like your friends.
