Debating if I should go to a NYE party at an venue, all I know is that there will be DJ's playing, drinks, seems like a big event space. What are the chances that there will be single guys? Or will everyone be coupled up, because obviously I assume couples kiss each other at midnight, but is going to an New years eve party a lonely event for single people?

You won't know unless you try but proceed with caution. More guys will be looking for a hookup over a relationship.

I can't remember ever meeting someone new at a NY Eve party.  Too much drinking and sloppiness!

The best woman I ever met is my wife.

It happened after a few short and toxic relationships. At that time I decided to stop looking for a girlfriend. I understood that there is plenty of fish in the sea and nothing bad gonna happen if I stop looking for 3-5 years and concentrate on myself instead. I did just that and met my future wife in 2 months after that decision.

Not sure how relevant my experience is, but I found my love when I stopped looking for it.

I plan on going out on New Year's Eve specifically for the purpose of meeting women. I've had good fortune in the past, so I'm hoping to get more of the same.

If you are looking for a single guy on NYE, you are definitely going to find one at the bar. Whether this person is somebody you want to be with or not, that is another story, but I don't think there is any question that you will find somebody willing.

IDK, i'm the type of guy if the chick i'm with on NYE isn't DTF, I'm moving on, so don't expect much.

In NYC it depends on the venue.  There are lots of singles NYE parties around the city.  There are also the high priced ones with the views of Times Square that will be filled with tourists.

Take a better look at the invitation / website to ascertain who this event / venue is catering to.

Down to [have sex].  Substitute the F word.

Well, it doesn't say if it caters towards singles or couples. I'll be going with a group, but since there will be dj's spinning music, I'll try to put myself out on the dancefloor to be seen.

Everyone goes out for New Year's Eve, not just couples. If it's one of those standard New York "open bar for $100" deals, I bet there will be no shortage of single people. You'll probably meet 2 guys waiting in line to get your drinks. You might as well make friends with them because you're going to be waiting for your drinks for 20 minutes+, at least that's how it was the last time I went to one of those things.

I'm just assuming you're talking about New York because of your username, I can't speak for anywhere else.

I would go somewhere that was catering to singles on NYE because if you just show up to a bar or club by yourself some guys may view it as an invitation that you are DTF whether you are or not.
