My friend has been having really angry and irratible mood swings, lashing out at me and taking things out on me, that are not my fault or my doing.

But then an hour later, he will be all friendly and nice, like it never happened. It's like a Jekyll and Hide thing, it seems.

He also sweats alot when in the irritable angry mode, and then not sweating so much, in the friendly normal mode. But I also noticed that he's been eating a lot of food lately, and I mean a lot. When he is all angry, he will then go out and get something to eat, and then he's all fine and friendly after. But he has to do this every hour or less it seems.

He's also put on a lot of weight lately too because of it. Now I am not sure if the eating is related to his mood swings, and maybe it's a separate thing, but he seems to calm down, once he's eaten every hour. I don't think he means to act rude or angry towards me and when he has calmed down, it's like he is not aware it even happened. Does anyone know how I should approach this, cause I seriously am re-evaluating my friendship with him with how he has been acting, but feel I should say something as well, and an concerned of course.

What do you think?

Could be a number of things. You don't say how old he is, which may be relevant, but it could be stress, an allergy, a health or mental health issue...... it could be lots of things. You need to tell him that you've noticed a marked change in his behaviour and that's all you can do, it's then up to him to go see a doctor.  His frequent hunger and weight gain might indicate something to do with his blood sugar levels. Whatever, he needs a doctor to check some things and eliminate things like diabetes or other more serious stuff.

Oh okay.  I thought sugar was not good for diabetics though.  He's 33.

No, I've never known him take any illegal drugs if that is what you mean. He takes a medication I have noticed.  I don't know what it is though.

Which friend is this? The one who lost his fiance who is your best friend? Or someone completely different? His symptoms are what a diabetic experiences when their blood sugar is too low or too high. Is he a diabetic? Please give us information on his health and medical conditions or we can't "guess" accurately. Why not call his parents and tell them you witnessed this?

Find out what medicine  he takes. He probably needs something to relax his mood, temper.

His diet has something to do with it, but no one on the internet can diagnose this, so all advice

be skeptical of, including mine.

I'm diabetic and it's a lot like that! I developed severe anxiety disorder after the last natural disaster here and it's even worse...I try to carry a snack now- brazil nuts , cottage cheese, a boiled egg etc.

I applaud your efforts to be a good friend, you'll never regret that, it's a skill you'll use all over the place.
