Kitty Tantrum Posted November 15, 2019 Posted November 15, 2019 This Monday is the day! We originally meant to get married about a year ago, but put it off because I was sick. We're having a very small, very informal wedding - at the very same spot we first laid eyes on each other 4 years ago. We didn't actually "meet" until a few weeks after that, but we both remember that moment, so I think that's pretty special. Here's the funny thing: we went and applied for our marriage license a few days ago, and they gave us the option to fill out the application on a computer. When we were done filling it out, at the bottom of the last page, the options were: "Submit Now" OR "Continue Shopping" That made us both crack up. Just wanted to share. 7

preraph Posted November 15, 2019 Posted November 15, 2019 Great story! I guess they're going to think you kept shopping! Best wishes on your wedding day and every day thereafter!
Mr. Lucky Posted November 16, 2019 Posted November 16, 2019 Your husband-shopping days are over. Remember, "the heart that loves is always young" ... Mr. Lucky
lana-banana Posted November 16, 2019 Posted November 16, 2019 I love this story! Congratulations to you both!! Because we paid for our marriage license with a credit card, we got a receipt that says "Sale". My husband brags that I was a bargain.
LivingWaterPlease Posted November 16, 2019 Posted November 16, 2019 Wishing the two of you every wonderful thing life has to offer, Kitty!
Author Kitty Tantrum Posted November 16, 2019 Author Posted November 16, 2019 Thanks, everyone! I'm pretty excited. We've been living together for a couple years already, so I don't know that much will change in practical terms, but marriage means a lot to me... even still after the absolute sh**-show that was my first marriage. I know it's very old-fashioned of me, but I'm going to FEEL a lot better, if nothing else, when we're actually married and not just cohabiting... "living in sin," as it were. Still trying to work out in my head how it is that the relationship where I did everything "right" - saved my virginity for my first husband, picked a man at church, careful vetting, negotiated a traditional religious marriage, etc. turned into a postmodern sexual liberation trainwreck... and the relationship that started out as pure fornication ended up being a traditional monogamous marriage with strong Christian underpinnings (even though we have never once attended church together). But I'm not going to argue. 1
