elijahBailey Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 wow, my buddy just told me he's gonna break up with his g/f of 2 years and the reason was that he doesn't think they look good together. He's like 5'9" and she's like 5'0". I'm like whoa! but I thought 5'9" and 5'0" is cool. Isn't that the epitome of shallowness. I mean she's quite a looker, in great shape, and awesome character. I don't know about you guys, but man, if I wasn't already committed, I would love to have her But anyways after what he explained to me, I thought he had a good point.... if you aren't happy with how she looks, you can't ever be happy. Anyone with me on this? I suppose the women will shoot this down but maybe the guys will empathize with the situation since we're more physical? Thoughts?
d'Arthez Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 "The guy is an idiot", that was my first thought. The problem is not how she looks, but simply a "lack" of height. I really can't see why height difference would be a reason to break up - unless it caused a lot of other problems and issues. If she has an awesome character, I doubt there is a real problem in the relationship, except for the fact that your friend is too conscious about appearances. Strange questions perhaps, but does he also refuse to date women who are older than him, or are as tall or taller than him?
lynnered Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 it has to be something other then her height or he never would have went out with her in the 1st place then stuck around for 2 years. im 5'7 ,i dont date a man under 6'1 prefference yes ,but i dont date shorter guys at all ,so i dont get if he didnt like that ,why he even got involved with her? i agree that if Ur not physically attracted to someone ,it wont work out.
ReluctantRomeo Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 Isn't that the epitome of shallowness. Yup But anyways after what he explained to me, I thought he had a good point.... if you aren't happy with how she looks, you can't ever be happy. Anyone with me on this? He knew what she looked like 2 years ago when they started dating. Or has he only just looked at her face after all this time?
Aimée Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 Your friend is not very smart if it takes him two years to figure out that he's not physically attracted to her.
Art_Critic Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 Just point him to the LS web address when he starts to realize he fu**ed up wants her back..
Author elijahBailey Posted September 30, 2005 Author Posted September 30, 2005 Your friend is not very smart if it takes him two years to figure out that he's not physically attracted to her. LOL. But no he's not. But yeah I agree with everyone here. He's probably tired of her and lookin' for greener pastures and needed something stupid to justify his deed. but does he also refuse to date women who are older than him, or are as tall or taller than him? yeah, I was just busting him about it last night. But he's got no problems with older women, but they gotta look good together. wow! and he's not even that great lookin' himself.
Author elijahBailey Posted September 30, 2005 Author Posted September 30, 2005 Just point him to the LS web address when he starts to realize he fu**ed up wants her back.. No, when he realized he f*cked up, he'd have to come over to my address, cos I'll probably be banging her then :lmao: But by then, I wouldn't be his buddy no more
Outcast Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 But yeah I agree with everyone here. He's probably tired of her and lookin' for greener pastures and needed something stupid to justify his deed. Well he did a good job. I doubt you could come up with a more stupid reason if you tried. Is he a Seinfeld fan?
d'Arthez Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 Well he did a good job. I doubt you could come up with a more stupid reason if you tried. How about: "I am blond." or "You are not from Liechtenstein." or "You don't speak Yiddish fluently - hell I do not even know where people speak or spoke the language." or "I am an idiot, and to prove it, I break up with you."
Author elijahBailey Posted September 30, 2005 Author Posted September 30, 2005 Well he did a good job. I doubt you could come up with a more stupid reason if you tried. Is he a Seinfeld fan? no he isn't, but I am  hey did anyone buy the DVD release of Seinfeld Episodes 1~4? Costs a freakin' bomb, so I had to pass. But I would love to own 'em.
Author elijahBailey Posted September 30, 2005 Author Posted September 30, 2005 How about: "I am blond." or "You are not from Liechtenstein." or "You don't speak Yiddish fluently - hell I do not even know where people speak or spoke the language." or "I am an idiot, and to prove it, I break up with you." no wait... or 'I'm gonna have to give you over to my buddy. He digs you big time and I love him like a brother'
Skeered Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 Ok first of all your friend is a total wimp or he's completely shallow or both. Secondly, yes looks matter to a point, but personally I think sense of humor and the fact of just being friends is the biggest factor I look for in a relationship. I'm very fortunate to say that my BF has this personality and sense of humor that is out of this world. He can make me laugh till I cry, our friendship is by far the greatest I have ever had with ANYONE, he knows everything about me, no holding back. We met online so I met him by friendship and chatting online and on the phone first. I didn't even see a pic of him until a couple weeks before he came to meet me. I didn't care what he looked like who HE was was all I cared about. I met him and I just fell in love. Is he a GQ model, nope, but to me he is the most gorgeous man on the planet, he's perfect. But ya know what, I'm no perfect peach either, heck I don't think I have made anyone turn a head to look at me but in his eyes I'm gorgeous. That's where true beauty lies, in that of the beholder. Your buddy needs to realize that if he thinks he has to have his perfect match in looks first, he will be lookin for a long time.
megabit15 Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 What if they really do look horrible together? They'd have ugly kids! Ever see the Conan O'Brien 'what if they mated' skit? But seriously, no one is perfect and maybe he likes playing the avoid commitment game. No problem if that is what he really wants, but if he says he wants commitment and finds fault with everyone, then the boy has issues.
Author elijahBailey Posted October 1, 2005 Author Posted October 1, 2005 agreed, girls I called him out again on his lame-o excuse. He's like ' oh you dig her, you go get her '. Saved me all the hassle of actually askin' But dang I'm already committed. But I just love petite women. Any guys with me?
