max3732 Posted September 23, 2019 Posted September 23, 2019 Guess this would apply to any big event, but the night before a date I get pretty nervous and start thinking about what it will be like and wondering if I'm finally going to meet the right woman for me. Basically my mind runs like crazy. After I finally do get to sleep I wake up again in like 4 hours with the same kinds of thoughts and then end up staying awake and waking up every hour or so. This just happened this past weekend so I felt a bit sluggish during the date.
RecentChange Posted September 23, 2019 Posted September 23, 2019 Sounds like you have problems managing your anxiety. You could try some self help books, or a few sessions with a counselor to give you some tools to self soothe and control your anxiety might be a good investment
GorillaTheater Posted September 23, 2019 Posted September 23, 2019 Some self-talk can be helpful, too. Just keep telling yourself: "whatever happens, I can handle it." Because it's almost invariably true. 1

Art_Critic Posted September 23, 2019 Posted September 23, 2019 back in the day, I always rubbed one out the night before a big date to fall asleep fast... Not saying you should do that but it always worked for me.. 1

Not saying you should do that but it always worked for me.. Funny you should mention that. Somewhat related I will often get wet dreams when I'm anxious about a date, but that ends up keeping me up longer as I have to clean myself up and then change before trying to get back to sleep. Very aggravating!
