ChatroomHero Posted September 16, 2019 Posted September 16, 2019 Some roommates will feel entitled to help themselves to your food and things and say, "It's no big deal". But if you want them to replace anything or share theirs, they will act like you are asking them if you can just have $20,000 from them. Not sure why, they can be normal or good people other than that, but whats yours should be theirs too but what's theirs should be theirs and only ever theirs! Best you can do is hide it. Because if you don't, regardless of whether you give them permission or not, they will still take it and think it is no big deal. Best way to deal with it is to make sure they don't have access so it can't be an issue. Wait until it comes to paper towels, laundry stuff, toilet paper...you'll buy it 10 weeks in a row and they'll buy the cheapest stuff they can find one week and act like they sacrificed their entire bank account to do so, while saying you never buy it.
LuckyM Posted September 18, 2019 Posted September 18, 2019 I would buy a steel box and lock it. If small enough, put it in the fridge. Taking food is stealing. If you want to be nice, buy them some cheap food that you don't like, so you look sporty.
preraph Posted September 18, 2019 Posted September 18, 2019 Sorry, for some reason I too thought you were a woman. Probably because you were not standing up to that roommate.
