bradt93 Posted August 22, 2019 Posted August 22, 2019 Hi you all, I'm back in college and I'm enjoying my classes so far. We had orientation earlier this week and we did an activity that involved standing on each others toes looking face to face at each other. It was me and another female, we both didn't want to stand on each others toes lol. It was mainly about introducing ourselves and asking questions like what's your major, etc. When I was talking to her though, I almost froze, but I got through it. Why do you think that was? Maybe because I hardly talk to women? It felt okay to be honest, but at the same time I felt a little uncomfortable. Did I make progress when I talked to her instead of being shy and in my comfort zone?

BaileyB Posted August 22, 2019 Posted August 22, 2019 That kind of exercise would make almost anyone uncomfortable. Being required to make direct eye contact with someone who is in your personal space... That’s awkward. Enjoy your classes!

And you're standing on each other, so....what's not to feel uncomfortable about. At least you did it and got through it. I guess the instructors figures if you can do that, which is already awkward, just a simple talking to a person without standing on their toes will be easier in comparison!
