has anyone tried doing an online divorce? It looks easy - we have no kids, everything is already divided, no house, no complications. Its' $250 and it looks like a snap. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks.

It depends on what state you are in. I am an attorney in Georgia. Our state allows an uncontested divorce in addition to your typical contested divorce. which is much cheaper because it doesn't involve court time and there are less documents to draw up. The uncontested divorce is when you and your spouse have agreed to everything and the attorney just draws all of it up. You are most likely referring to an online separation agreement (yes it is a divorce that is the legal term for the form you saw). I would suggest you find an attorney in your state that offers a free consultation. You want to make sure you file it properly. You can't just fill out the form online and then have it done. It still has to be filed and a judge has to enter an order regardless of what state it is in. We don't allow the online divorces in our state so you better make sure it is legal and not some rip off.

Good Luck
