Guys out there, please give me your advice. Here's the story, my ex and I broke up a month ago. I'm not doubting that we should have broken up b/c it was mutual. However, I was still hurt and upset by the whole thing. I ended up writing a letter to him. I initially wrote it to be theraputic for myself, but by the time I finished the letter I thought it sounded really good. I thought I did a good job at expressing my feelings throughout the relationship and after the breakup. In it I discussed both sides of the situation and said if/when he did something and if/when I did something. I tried not to place any blame b/c it wasn't the inent of the letter. I simply wrote the letter to let him know how I was thinking thorughout the relatinship. I ended up telling him that I had loved him, which I never said when we were together. I also told him how I thought we were better suited for each other, which was a sad, but true, thought.

Anyway, I have yet to hear from him. I've told a couple friends about the letter. Some feel it's probably overwhelming for him and he probably doesn't know how to respond. Others think he may have moved on and doesn't want to respond. I'm not asking to get back together with him at all, just curious if he'd write back and say "yeah, got your letter", if he'd actually respond to any of my questions in the letter, or if he'd just leave it alone. Any guys out there have any thoughts? Just curious if I should be expecting an email back?

I would say you are :)

I know you asked for guy's input but I think you are interested in getting back with him or else you wouldn't care about his answers or whether or not he is going to write you back.

Your best bet is to move on. It sounds like he isn't interested. Sorry for your loss.

You expressed that you love him, and feel that you are better suited for each other. I would definitely take this as being asked to get back together if I were to receive such a letter.

He hasn't responded because he doesn't feel the same. I would move on and limit all contact to those that he initiates and even then be slow to respond (if you even want to).

No, seriously I'm not wanting to get back together. Without knowing what I said in the letter, it's easy to think I wrote it as a way to get back with him. However, that wasn't the case at all. Just needed some closure. I'm sure you all know what that means. Yes, I'm moving on and do not see a future with him. I realize that we shouldn't get together b/c if we did we'd go back in the same rut we were in before. I'm an educated girl, I realize these things. That doesn't mean that I don't miss him or that the breakup was easy. I know it's going to take time to get over him and I'm giving myself time to cope. I just sent the letter to let him know what I was thinking and I don't regret it one bit.

Sorry, meant better suited with other people....NOT better suited with each other. I can see where that would sound like I want him back. No, we are not meant for each other. I realize this!
