alphamale Posted August 5, 2019 Posted August 5, 2019 I would not date a man that thinks it's ok to get a free ride for a year to pile up money for himself. You're an adult. Put your furniture in a storage and rent a cheap room somewhere and do your thing on your own. That shows good character. My daughter is your age and she'd get 3 jobs instead of 'lowering' herself by moving back in with her mom. Hey, you do what you gotta do 1
beautifulearth83 Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 Honestly, who cares what anybody thinks. Some people in this world don’t even have a roof over their head, or parents even. Be grateful for this opportunity to get where you want to go in your life and make the best of it. If somebody comes along who understands, then so be it. If not, then it wasn’t meant to be. I’m so tired of this stigma with living with your parents, especially if you’re working and trying to make positive changes in your life. I moved back home when I got sober and have started a business and greatly improved my life, and I also love my family. If a woman judges me for that, then in my opinion she is shallow and not the type of woman I’d like to be with. Society puts all these black and white expectations on people of how things should be. Build the life that you want, and the people who don’t get it can walk. And it doesn’t even sound like you’re going to be there long, so be patient. 3

I paid my parents 25-50% of my wages while I saved a lot of money to put down on a deposit for a mortgage. Paying someone rent, who isn't family, is complete and total wasted money. Same thing for paying interest on mortgage payments but its far better than paying rent. I'm 38 and completely own my own home after paying it off early from doing a lot of overtime at work. Now just saving for a nice car. Never ever use loans or overdrafts. My credit rating is maxed I don't even need it lol. Not bad for a working class electrician.
