Author Springsummer Posted August 14, 2019 Author Posted August 14, 2019 You haven’t heard of the tinder game??? Guys play it all the time! They are on a night out and bet to see who gets more tinder matches. They say ready , steady , go! Swipe right on everyone for a certain amount of time. Then stop. After another defined time , the one with the least matches, pays for the drinks lol I’m female and a past tinder user. I find that hilarious. As a past user I never chatted to a match if they were the one that caused the match ie swiped right after me. Stop over thinking! Also , at lunch breaks , my gay friend loved taking over my tinder and swiping for me. He’d ask me the next day if “he” got any matches lol Such a funny app! I love it! But it’s what you make of it I guess!?! nope people who play this kind of game is immoral, juvenile and idiots.
Author Springsummer Posted August 14, 2019 Author Posted August 14, 2019 There are far better sites if he is looking for something with depth and long term.. really? what sites? pof?
Watercolors Posted August 14, 2019 Posted August 14, 2019 If you think Plenty of Fish is a better site than Tinder, oi vay! It's free and it has the same lower quality guys. Tinder is a hookup dating app. Everyone and their grandmother knows this. That 'academic' guy ignored you twice and you're still interested in him? Don't pine over guys who ignore you. He may be an 'academic,' but that doesn't mean he's a good person. Also, it's Tinder. Tinderrrrr. Join Meetup groups. You're better off meeting guys in person who you actually have something in common with. 1
SumGuy Posted August 14, 2019 Posted August 14, 2019 really? what sites? pof? Perhaps this deserves a thread of its own, sites that might be more focused on hooking up vs long term relationships. I've only internet reading, anecdotal stories, and limited personal experience on this but found the free sites are far more likely to be hook-up oriented especially ones like Tinder and Plenty-o-Fish (POF). In fact, after got divorced and was looking into OLD, POF was the site for over 30 or over 40 hook-up at least according to those I talked to. Pay sites I read and hear anecdotally are places where you are much more likely to find guys who are relationship oriented, again for those 30 or 40+ I've no idea what younger demographics do on such sites. Tried e-harmony (wasn't a fan but did meet someone and we were together for over a year, went well just very different life directions in the end) and Match. Not that a pay site prevents douche bags, dirt bags and control freaks from messaging women. I just think there are fewer (percentage wise) on such sites, except maybe the control freaks, the ones that I hear message women about their profile, providing unsolicited advice that has a hint of misogyny in it. 1

I tried e-harmony. After seeing it basically matched me with every single non attractive guys in the city, I gave up. I do not have the patience.

To be fair, if you're putting attractiveness over all else, perhaps it's not Meetup which is pathetic. Most people aren't super attractive, so your success will defined by your own limitations. If you limit yourself to a small pool, you best be prepared for singledom.
