So I’ve successfully secured a second date due tomorrow for the 4th with this girl I’ve been talking to. She doesn’t have much family and neither do I so we found out we both didn’t have plans for the 4th and decided we’d spend it together.

The plan is to meet up around 5pm at the same location. It’s a busy strip of street so there’s a lot of restaurants, bars, and pubs. Pick a couple, have some dinner, maybe some drinks, head a block over to the park and watch some live bands and end it with a firework show.

Our first date went really well, but there wasn’t any touching or intimacy. We just ended things with a hug. Which is totally okay and I even made my mind up beforehand that I wouldn’t make any advances on a first date to not give the wrong impression.

So seeing now that I’ve gotten a second date with her I’m starting to wonder when I should start introducing or initiating touching/intimacy. Or if that’s even appropriate yet. I don’t think she’s the type to make first moves so eventually it’ll be up to me but I also don’t want to leave wrong impressions but still would like to keep her interested and not end up hugging every time we part ways.

Would love some input

Thanks everyone :)

Sounds like a fun date.

Bring a blanket & maybe a cooler for the park. Hold her hand when you walk. Sit close while you watch the fireworks.

If she's giving the right signals, kiss her good night. See if you make fireworks of your own.

I think you should mainly create a good time! Look for signals she sends and flirt yourself. If you go planning to have a good time and know there is chemistry & work the chemistry, this usually falls into place.

I think guys that "set out" to have a physical or date type goal, actually usually f*ck up the date by being too stiff and preoccupied. I know you are not sounding like a jerk about it, however for your own sake & sake of the relationship I think the measure of "progression" is best if you ground it in HAVING FUN. 100% think/know that's what people with good dating skills do. Good luck & have fun :)
