Should I just walk away?

My bf and I are in love for the last 6 years but I've reached the conclusion that we don't share the same financial ethics (and we are in very different financial situations). For example, he thinks it's ok to use an elderly parent's money for himself since he considers it "his" and I believe it's wrong unless the parent can give consent to do so. After my nudging him, he did the right thing and paid it back but I realize we are not only different but incompatible. I don't believe I can ever live with someone like that.

 

I'm so heartbroken...we've been together for so long after each of us suffered tragedies in our lives.

 

Do I/should I just walk away or make the best of it considering we are up in age.
