alphamale Posted June 24, 2019 Posted June 24, 2019 (edited) This is why it's always so funny to see how many women are looking for a guy with money. There aren't that many, so the competition is extremely fierce! yep, on the other hand there are very few women that would interest the rich guys yet somehow they find each other Edited June 24, 2019 by a LoveShack.org Moderator
alphamale Posted June 24, 2019 Posted June 24, 2019 yep enigma, that's why the majority of people are born into and die into the same socio economic strata
Highndry Posted June 24, 2019 Posted June 24, 2019 Where I live at least, most of the people around don't date much outside their social class. The guys born into wealthy families end up dating the hot girls that were also born into wealthy families. They all go to the same private schools, live in the same neighborhoods, and pretty much stick to each other when it comes to dating. There are many different levels of wealth, too. In my opinion, a couple million dollars doesn't make a person "wealthy." To me, you need to have over $10 million liquid to be considered truly wealthy. And even then, you're a piker compared to a Rockefeller or a Walton or somebody.
mortensorchid Posted June 24, 2019 Posted June 24, 2019 Get involved with the community in some way, even setting up your own foundation (if you have the inclination if you have enough cash to do so) to open doors for you to "real people". And like everything in life, you're not automatically going to hit the mark every time you do, but you'll try.

I could buy an expensive car with that. For most on here 2 million we'd consider ourselves pretty wealthy. I don't ever expect to be a 2 percenter.

A 50 y.o. with $2M where I live isn't struggling, but isn't by any means wealthy. But if I moved a few hours north $2M would qualify as loaded. 1

I also see you're in Canada which is a factor too with US dollar conversion. Here in FL the snowbirds at my fleamarket kiosk will usually gladly pay full price because of the dollar conversion it cost them more to buy the same product up there In Canada. Your 2 million Canadian dollars would go much farther in the US outside of places like Miami, New York, LA etc.
Eugeleh Posted June 24, 2019 Posted June 24, 2019 Ah. I also see you're in Canada which is a factor too with US dollar conversion. Yeah, but I often convert it into US$ when assessing my own wealth in regard to spending power. My city is less expensive than NYC or SF, but relatively pricey compared to most other US cities. My wife is from a medium size city in the deep south---we would be quite wealthy , relatively speaking , if we moved there. But we're doing OK and prefer where we are.

I'm from Missouri and 2 million you would live like a king anywhere in the state. St. Louis, Kansas City, rural Missouri. Low property taxes, low cost on everything. FL is getting expensive thanks to the New Englanders and such with money moving here jacking the price up on everything. yea states like Missouri, Alabama, Mississippi, Kansas, Arkansas, etc. 2 million you will live really nice. Regarding dating sites, many more women up in Missouri in stl on there but also compared to FL less superficial, and stuck up and less on the money thing. Missouri is a bible belt state so that might be a factor. Down here the women are from places liek the NE and they act like they're in California.
crispytoast Posted June 24, 2019 Posted June 24, 2019 I'm curious what would you say the difference is between California women and NE women?
bluesfan Posted June 24, 2019 Posted June 24, 2019 I'm curious what would you say the difference is between California women and NE women? Both seem superficial, stuck up, want money, NE more snobbish than California. I mean both sexes in general. I live in SWFL where there are a lot of New England people and they tend to be snobs like that compared to someone from the upper south like Missouri or Kentucky for example. Florida isn't a southern state in modern times. Except for a few pockets in northern FL where no one wants to really live. Not much southern hospitality. Lots of trashy women too down here too though. Just watch Live PD. There also seems to be a high divorce rate down here. I dunno, the state just seems so plastic.

For most on here 2 million, we'd consider ourselves pretty wealthy. I don't ever expect to be a 2 percenter. 2 million isn't that much money to buy expensive cars (if by expensive we are talking about Ferrari and Rolls Royce). I would invest $2 million in stocks and bonds and comfortably live off interest and dividends -- something like $80K cash every year. That's pretty comfortable living, especially if you still work part-time and have some income from that. It's not wealthy, but it's somewhere close to the top 10%. Anything over $10 million is definitely close to the top 1% -- just barely though.

That ain't a bad idea as well. I'd rather make 80k a year and maybe 12k a year part time than work 50-60 hours a week to make 110k a year and be under high stress. The women on dating sites don't want you in the top 10 percent income though. Probably more like top 5. They come off as real narcissist some of them.
