Question is directly towards single people who have done dating apps before. I am completely done with dating apps, but I was thinking about how there are some questions that I would like to see asked on dating apps. It would help me to choose a better fit. Things like:

  • Kids custody, if you have kids
  • Work schedule
  • Do you have a disability or long-term disease, do you have all body parts?
  • Actual weight and height
  • Actual job title (not just "I have a job" or "self-employed")
  • Diet (i.e. vegan, etc.)

Those are just a few I can think of. What are some questions that you would like to see?

Ya but the whole idea about dating is getting to know more details about someone ON DATES. If there was that much detailed revealed on dating profiles, no one would ever get asked out.

I agree with Smackie but the kids things is important enough that it should be front and center. And required.

The one thing I always though would be great would be legit personality matching on things like MBTI and Kolbi.

If you use a real *dating site* it will show you all these information. All those Tinder and alike are not dating sites or app, they're catalogs with pictures.

I think dating apps are supposed to be quick easy to use. You see a photo you like, you take a quick look at profile (not a novel) you like, you message all in 7.5 seconds, because that is all the time people really have these days.

I’d have a queueing system to beat the tyre kickers. Matches should be far more significant than they are currently with everyone having unlimited queues and women being able to rack up matches with every swipe and able to collect matches on platforms like Bumble safe in the knowledge that they can match and get their ego boost with impunity and the guy effectively has no recourse.

So you want to match? Fine, but you have to choose an existing match to delete to make space. All of a sudden matches would mean a hell of a lot more than they do currently which could only be a good thing imo.

in my utopian world a dating app with

a legit lie detector that gives a red flag warning

and a program that gives mild electric shocks(like weeing on an electric fence mild level of shock) to the sender of unsolicited dick pics that you decide whether to administer by multiple choice.......for example....it would read something like this

your future date has sent a dick pic without your consent do you wish to

A)

administer shock now anonymously

B)

administer shock now with full disclosure ....

go the full monty

I wouldn't answer on an app:

[*]Work schedule

[*]Actual job title (not just "I have a job" or "self-employed")

Nope--nothing about my job on an app. Those would have to be answered in person after I've gauged the person first.

The rest are legit.

What's to stop them from lying on the improved app? It all really boils down to compatibility and that can't be forced. When it is, like a bad fitting pair of shoes, there's just too much unnecessary pain.

I’d like a legit way to determine if the person is an animal lover. None of these “are you a cat or a dog person” questions. Plenty of people don’t like either and frankly, in my experience, these aren’t people that I would want to be in a partnership with. It would be a good way to narrow down the field quickly.

Edit: I mean... I guess if they post a picture of themselves with their pet you can assume they love animals. But should people without pictures of their pets be discounted?

Edit 2: And yeah, I wouldn’t want to put stuff about my job on my profile. They can learn that when we meet.

Keep the answers coming folks (esp from single folks). It's interesting and I'm learning a lot.

The only thing from your list I would like to know is whether they have children or a disability that might be good to know about up front. Eg deaf, well I'm gonna try to learn some sign language beforehand to impress him, hopefully. Wish me luck

hahahaha, from Recent Ex's....

"Joe is a good guy, except when he has had a few. He has a great family that loves him but watch out for his relationship with his Sister, something weird going on there.

Overall I give him a 7.5 but wouldn't date him ever again, and I made sure the restraining order was permanent."

As useful and practical as they may be, I shudder to think what kinds of "unboxing" videos and pictures we would see.
