I’m 53 and she is 50. We broke up 2.5 years ago and

Have had zero communication. We were together for 3 years and

Engaged to be married. We both made mistakes. And a lot of terrible things occurred. I have forgiven her and hope she has forgiven me.

When we split up I owed her money. It is quite a bit of money. I will soon be in a fabulous financial position and want to pay her back.

What’s the best way to do this? Contact her and say I’d like to see her and touch base? Just anonymously deposit into her bank account if she still banks at the same place? What do you guys girls think?

And yes I hope this is the first step in getting her back in my life and having a start over.

Hmmm...I’d probably say to mail her a check with a thank you card with a nice note and perhaps your point of contact. I’d put the ball in her court. That may strike up a conversation. But I have to say, I do hope your intentions are to pay her back regardless?

Yes. Mail her a check with a thank you.

I agree with mailing her a check and a thank you. Some banks don't let you deposit into accounts that aren't yours anymore.
