Got a Daily Match on match.com today. 59 y/o to my 65. Bubbly, independent, active, (oh and KEE-UTE is a girl next door way), shares ALL my favorite interests: dancing, hiking, skiing, gardening.

4'11'' but says she's looking for 5'9'' to 6'4'' so technically I'm an auto-reject for my 5'8'' height. I think the body type is more likely to be a deal-breaker unless she'll flex since she's looking for 'slender' or 'athletic' and I'm a legit 'average' (mea culpa that I haven't been more religious about my core exercises lately).

So I messaged her. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. And throwing it out here just because .... she's just VERY cool based on all the superficial first impression stuff that I or anyone can get from an OLD profile. Also on that superficial basis has the potential to displace Natalie from my futile focus which would be nice. I can't say I'm expecting anything - I'm not, not even a response to my message. But it's fun to daydream when what seems like a special woman emerges from the murky OLD forest.

Well, if the AZ Cardinals can draft a 5' 10" Quarterback, I don't see why a man 5' 8" wouldn't work with a 4' 11" woman. What's an inch, after all??

Really happy to hear you had such a great match. Fingers crossed this person works out for you!! :bunny:

By the way, I've noticed match.com has been advertising on TV, lately. I don't watch a lot of TV, but some of my free stream channels are playing match.com commercials. This is the first time, I've seen them do that. Maybe that will increase your pool of potential matches, as well.

The pool is what the pool is. I've posted in the past about layers of the NYC 'suburbs'. As anyone, male or female, gets farther from NYC, there are fewer people and whatever people there are are 'not as wealthy' (I didn't want to write 'poorer'). (The recent Simpson's episode with Homer singing about the economic wasteland that Upstate New York has become has a LOT of unpleasant truth to it.) I'm fairly 'far out' (location wise as well as my personality :p) and I recently noticed that, although I've contacted women 'closer in', almost all the women who have actually chosen to meet me are also 'out here' in the relative boondocks.

This particular woman is even (a little) farther out than I am so, other things being equal, money and pool of men for her choosing, should be 'okay'. Whether match advertising affects the pool, eh, I hope you're right. But I expect population density is the major factor in the pool.
