Toronto is a very diverse and multicultural city, which is a great way to experience different parts of the world (Chinatown, little Sri Lanka, Mediterranean, etc) but when it comes to the selection of men I would date, there are very few white men (who also have to be single, age appropriate, mentally stable, preferably my height or taller, etc etc etc). Before I can even become picky, I need to find men to be picky about.

Long story short, I prefer pink penis and a culture similar to mine (especially for longterm). As a white woman in Toronto, I find myself very much in the minority. Growing up in Toronto, Ive definitely seen non-white ethnical groups grow in numbers over the years. Italian, Russian, Greek and Romanian areas (and other eastern European ethnicities) have all disappeared with the influx of new immigrants within the last 10 years or so.

I was just at the bank and literally the ONLY white person of 15-20 people. Usually I dont even notice but this hungry cat is on the prowl for a lion! It's so discouraging. My loins ache for vanilla but stock appears to be very low!

My grandmother recently visited from Moscow and kept asking why I cant just go out and find a man, but after touring her around Toronto, she herself started to comment that she will never have grandchildren because there is no one I can breed with (grumpy old granny who is Soviet born so also very racist lol!)

I guess Im just looking to connect with others in a similar situation. Assuming you are seeking a partner from a similar ethnicity, how do you cope if you're in the minority?

By the way, did online dating for 2 years on 2 different sites. Nothing but leftovers on there from my experiences (sorry!).

I have never heard of a white person having a hard time finding a white person to date lol (I'm a minority) and I didn't know Toronto was that diverse.

Do you have an online dating profile?

Oh never mind just saw the online dating part lol what about a hockey game?

I've never been to one. Are hockey fans predominantly white?

Yes they are :) At least in America lol but I do believe that there is a great chance that there would be mostly white males in the stands at a hockey game.

Hum, nope never had this problem!

While my husband is a Caucasian mutt like myself I guess I never strictly limited myself to “white” for dating nor attraction. My first love was Irish / Venezuelan, been involved with a deliciously olive toned Persian man...

But also never found a shortage of “white men” in my area (vast majority that I have dated fall into that catagory).

And it’s not like I am in an area that lacks diversity. Just looked up the demographics of Toronto- 47.7 European / Caucasian. My area is 28.7% “white” of non Hispanic origin (ie european). 32% Asian and 33% Hispanic (other races making up the small minority).

I wouldn't say I'm limiting myself. You like what you like *shrugs*

Are you sure these statistics are accurate? And bear in mind that European doesn't necessarily mean white anymore. When i was in London, England last year, I felt like I was in the middle east. I heard the same of France although Ive never been

Caucasian doesn't mean white skinned, although this is a common misconception.

Okay, I'll bite. So why is hockey mostly white guys? I mean, even bobsledding has Jamaicans!! But great suggestion.

I would encourage the poster to join community police events because surely the police force is diverse. It is almost everywhere. Not sure about pink penises....I think you may have that confused with your marital aid, dear.

If your family is from Moscow - then perhaps join an Eastern Orthodox type church? Or Slovak club? Check out meetups of the ethnicity you desire.

But to claim white is a minority in Toronto/Canada is far from reality.

Yes I am fairly certain. I have a sociology degree and I am well versed in interpreting demographic information.

When "European" is used in this context, the reference is to ethnicity, not county of immigration or emigration. A person of middle eastern decent living in England would still be considered middle eastern decent, not English or European decent. Even if that same person of middle eastern decent arrived in Toronto via London.

Here is a break down of Toronto's population last updated 2016:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demographics_of_Toronto

Meanwhile San Jose California:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/San_Jose,_California

In 1970, 75.7% of San Jose was "white of non-Hispanic origin" by 2010 that number became 28.7%. The Hispanic population here grew, while the Asian population boomed. 2016 figures appear to put "white" at 26.3% (https://datausa.io/profile/geo/san-jose-ca/#demographics) - Yet I still see lots of single white guys around!

One thing our area does have - is larger male population. One of the most skewed in the states. Its estimated that there are 134 young men for every 100 young women (20-30s).

While your area is slightly skewed against you - 93 men to every 100 women:

RecentChange, you just rocked my socks. Yes, this makes sense what you said about ethnicity. I was defining it differently, but your clarification helped. And not gonna lie, I got a little turned on when you went pro with the statistics lol

Then perhaps white isn't the problem, but shortage of men? Aww lol that's even worse :(

Maybe you can meet men at a hockey game. It's the whitest sport you can find.
