Hollywood-Tourist Posted January 5, 2019 Posted January 5, 2019 Would it strike you as odd if your girlfriend said that she 'loved you to the moon and back' even though you are two fully grown adults in their thirties? It just strikes me as unusual way of expressing love since the term is typically used from a parent to a child.
Art_Critic Posted January 5, 2019 Posted January 5, 2019 No.. basically means more than anything or more than anything else. In it's a wonderful life George makes reference to Mary wanting the moon.. he will lasso it and pull it down.. means he would give her anything...
Wallysbears Posted January 5, 2019 Posted January 5, 2019 Yup - totally a play off It’s a Wonderful Life. And not abnormal
Author Hollywood-Tourist Posted January 5, 2019 Author Posted January 5, 2019 Thanks guys. Good to know that I'm not totally overthinking this!
GTR King Posted January 5, 2019 Posted January 5, 2019 Not strange at all I am 28 & say that to my girlfriend sometimes
Author Hollywood-Tourist Posted January 5, 2019 Author Posted January 5, 2019 This form of greeting always struck me as a bit childish but now you guys have said that it's not uncommon, all is well in that case!
