So, it’s a regular working day for me on Dec.31st. Back in July, I requested to have New Year’s Eve off, however they told me that I shouldn’t have had New Year’s Eve off LAST year also. I also had that same date off too and I was put on the “waitlist.” I guess that makes sense. I noticed a co worker Who I’m friendly with is off this week after Christmas. Odd, because I think she was off the few days after Christmas too. Sure enough I looked at the calendar to verify and she had vacation days after Xmas. I’m like wth? I’m not sure if she got some sort of favoritism because everyone knows she has a family a husband and kids and I don’t? If they say it’s company policy then why did they let HER have th same holidays off?

It does seem unfair. I would quietly behind closed doors make inquiry of your supervisor.

Did she ask before or after you for the days off? Sometimes it’s whoever asks first.

They gave me the day off. If I hadn’t brought it to their attention they would have let it slide. Only one other person requested that day off, and only two people are allowed, so I was able to have it.
