Well, I am half asian and half caucasian and just from my perspective, I am not too fondly attracted to asian men. Don't get me wrong though, I HAVE been attracted to some asian guys. Most of them though were half like me though and they were tall. My opinion though is that I am not attracted to many asian men because a lot of the ones that I see are short .... very short. I personally like tall men who are well built and in shape. Although I haven't really seen any over weight asians but like I said, a lot of them are short and skinny. Just in my opinion on my own quota in finding one attractive, I like tall, light complected (black or white), non-blonde men, and handsome. Sorry.

I think they have that working against them ( as some suggested the difficulty of Asian males dating ) but as I stated in my other post I am attracted to them.

I don't exactly know what it is, but i guess i just havent come accross one that is out-going enough to suit my personality. Most asian guys i know are quiet and lack the confidence to approach and keep a girl. I do have a very soft spot for half casts though... Exhibit one: My boyfriend of two years is half german half philipino...

If you would like a more accurate and balanced view of Asian men, you should visit large multi-cultural cities such as LA, NY, Seattle, Toronto or Vancouver. You'll quickly discover that most of the negative stereotypes about Asian men are just not true. We're just like any other race. There are short Asian men, tall Asian men, skinny Asian men, buff Asian men, introverted Asian men, party animal Asian men, dumb Asian men, intelligent Asian men, dorky Asian men and yes even good looking studly Asian men (looks in the mirror ) If you're ever in Vancouver, let me know, I'd be more than happy to give you a tour of the club and restaurant scene.

Sure, you can say there are 'cool' azn guys and 'dorky' azn guys and all that, but the fact remains that on average they are shorter than most other races. About 4 of my friends are azn (born in Canada) and none of them even crack 5'8''... Granted, there are some that are 6' or over, but the majority are pretty short.

My point was that not ALL Asian men are short and fit into the stereotypical image put forward by the media. Also, the large majority of my Asian buddies are at least 5'8". So I guess it just depends on who you hang with.

I see a lot of shorter white and black men dating tons of women, but they have confidence and are masculine and exude personality. Being asian-indian myself but raised here in the US I see a lot of dorky but smart asian dudes who could not get a girl if their life depended on it! I hate to say it but it is true. Those of you on LS who know JOEL know exactly what I'm talking about....

From my experience and observations, it is true, asian women tend not to be attracted to asian men. I have many asian female friends that would automatically put a guy on the "no way" list for being asian, my own sister doesn't date asian men. I don't know the reason, but I know that's just how it is (at least around here). But for other ethnicities, I feel it's more because they just never thought of dating an asian man, or they think asian men don't want to date inter-racially. For example, my last ex-GF is black, and I am her first asian. She told me she just never thought that asian men would be interested in dating her. My current "involvement" is with an arabic woman. I'm also her first asian, I'll ask her why she was never with one before me. Maybe media has something to do with it too. I can't think of a high-profile heart-throb type asian male celebrity. Not saying it's a conspiracy that The Man is trying to put us asian people down, and wear your aluminium foil hats; I think that it just simply hasn't happened yet. But in the mean time, I'll try to do my best and "convert" as many women as possible by dating inter-racially, you know, for the good of humanity (before you say I'm a diseased slut, I was just kidding).

I dont' know where people get this "image" from. Asian women will kick the sheeyot outta you and me put together. My mom was a very strong willed woman who took little krap from anyone, especially her kids (including little alpha)

I know this chinese girl who is a total gold-digger but she is pretty good looking with a hot and tight body even though she has 2 young kids. She totally uses white dudes for their money and demands they take her to the best restaurants and give her expensive gifts....she totally takes advantage of them. When she does not get what she wants she berates them and humiliates them and they eat it up like chocolate cake. She is so good at manipulating men that it is unreal but these clowns will do whatever it takes to keep her happy. What suckers!

I don't doubt what either you or alpha are saying. I would think that life is far tougher in parts of Asia - and tough lives breed tough people. The sex and mail order bride industry in parts of SE Asia must surely profit from indulging various hazy Western perceptions that are based on outdated traditions - and it's not hard for a woman to fake a bit of short term sweet submission if that's what's wanted and her livelihood or future depends on it. Then there's the media...always keen to lend a hand with its portrayals of SE Asian women as a) downwardly gazing and enigmatically submissive b) a deadly, ruthless IQ-of-165 superbeings, c) a sexy combination of the two. C isn't the worst stereotype to be labelled with. I certainly wouldn't be objecting to it

Not sure how the image is still being propagated, but I'd say most modern women, asian or not, won't fit that stereotype.

Provided there's a more than dash of sexuality lurking in there, of course. But yes - a good hair cut and contact lenses work.

Just because a Chinese man lives in the US, and even a few generations before him, does not simply annul cultural heritage. Yes, thats right. They like being geeks. But it depends on their perspective of what a nice girl is. And by no means what the western world portrays as a nice girl, is necessarily a nice girl to a person who has been influenced by non-western culture. And shockingly, not even every westerner will consider the stereotypically portrayed nice girl as a nice girl. Women like masculine men not wimps. Dont believe me? One was tall like 6'1 and was very handsome. One recently was chisled and hot and had a serious six pack going on and really handsome. But he was just doing booty call....oh well lol...But I will go out with asian men but they have to be HANDSOME ! Well that sounds vain....but they have to have junk in the trunk ! I mean they dont have to be rich ...just HOT ! My friend is married to a lil asian guy...not that attractive but he eats up her attention by buying her expensive things ! But while I envy her....shes the one that has to sleep with him at night...she even said hes not attractive but he buys her stuff....go figure... I need to chemistry ! Keep your money

In college, I would see them being more serious about grades and all, but I think it all about self-preservation. They know that the society and workplace is white-dominated, so if you're gonna survive, you gotta kick some a$$ in college or you ain't gettin' no jobs when you get out. When you're already off to a bad start, you'd be thinkin' about your survival first. All the skirt-chasing can come later. Not so for the azn women. These girls can slide thru college with minimum GPA, catch some professional push-over when she gets out of college and she'll get along just fine. For the azn dude, the same option doesn't apply to him.
