Wallysbears Posted December 23, 2018 Posted December 23, 2018 If you choose well...you can have both. But it takes work. As a couple, you have to make an effort to still be a COUPLE when day to day life exists.
Prudence V Posted December 24, 2018 Posted December 24, 2018 I don't know how to answer you but I can tell you that love is more important when you are younger and companionship is more important when you are older Speak for yourself. I can get companionship from a dog. If I’m going to tolerate having a person in my space, it had better be love. And that’s just gotten stronger the older I’ve gotten.
major_merrick Posted December 24, 2018 Posted December 24, 2018 For me, love and companionship blend. If I'm going to just have sex with someone, I'm not really interested in being friends. If I'm just going to be friends without sex, then that's just companionship. But to be romantic love...it has to be both friendship and a sexual connection. Some people say that love fades after a while...perhaps that is because either the friendship or the sex has disappeared. I've had sex with lots of people, but I form close friendships slowly. Finding someone I really trust is a rare thing, so I'm not going to let that go easily.
