Hi Dodgersfan11, I'm really struggling to think of a reason not to follow him. What are you worried about? I'm not sure what the chances are of him adding you, but for sure it's zero if you take no action.

Instagram is there so that people can get attention from followers. Just don't expect anything from it other than pretty photos on your feed.

I mean, that's a completely normal thing to do. I also add girls on Facebook that I find attractive even if I don't know them at all and then strike a conversation to get to know them and stuff.

 

It's called SOCIAL media for a reason, you're supposed to socialize on them.

Well, I ended up following him, since his profile is public on instagram. He didn't follow me back though, not sure why? I have pictures on my profile even if I don't personally know him at all.

Whenever a woman that I have no clue about follows me on social media, they usually have pics of themselves that lead me to believe they are prostitutes. In the situations where they look like normal people, I assume they like something about what I am doing, but I would never think anything about forming a relationship with them. If he noticed you following him at all, he may have had some of those thoughts, or perhaps he is busy.

Of course he didn't follow you in return - this is exactly what I meant when I said to not have any expectations of anything other than pretty pictures in your feed. With the exception of established friendships, there's no expectation in instagram of reciprocal following.
