smackie9 Posted September 12, 2018 Posted September 12, 2018 On Live PD, someone was holding their ex roommate's drum set for rent owed. The cops showed up and told the guy to hand over the drum set, that by law you cannot posses someone property hostage for money owed, it has to be settled in small claims court. So if the OP sells or tosses out her stuff, she can go after him for it. It's possible she's hoping he does so she can sue him. I agree with Gaeta to just suck it up, and return her things, and write off the $200 as a lesson learned. Don't worry, karma will catch up to her. OP do not text her, just dump her stuff off at her work. 1
Malin889 Posted September 13, 2018 Posted September 13, 2018 So she was your girlfriend and you are asking money back from a vacation? Really?
Happy Lemming Posted September 13, 2018 Posted September 13, 2018 So she was your girlfriend and you are asking money back from a vacation? Really? Whether the money was utilized for a joint vacation or a vet bill or to make rent, if the agreement was for her to reimburse half the costs, then its a loan and she should pay. Period. She gave her word. If you say you are going to do something, you do it. That shows you have integrity. Personally, I've written off enough "loans" in my life. I have a quick promissory note form on my computer. You want to borrow money from me, you sign a promissory note. Even my present girlfriend of 6.5 years had to sign a promissory note when she needed a small loan. There is no ambiguity... its a loan, and yes I made her pay back the loan.
