So me and my ex have been broken up for almost 6 months I guess and we have been through a lot together. We’ve been in a long distance relationship for a year and then broke up. We decided to be friends but we’ve been arguing with each other for pretty much like 5 months. so she stopped texting me and started ignoring me. When she started ignoring me, I wrote her a goodbye message and stopped texting her after. 2 days ago she sent me a text and she was like I’m over it let’s be friends so I replied and I was like hey how have you been but she didn’t reply afterwards so I told her that this was mean to just text me saying she wants to be friends and then ignore me, knowing how bad I struggled over our breakup. She replied and we got over it. I guess we’re now “ friends “ but we didn’t really text. She was being dry so I asked her if she’s upset with me and then she was like “ about? “ so I was like idk are u but she never replied so I sent her another text her last night saying that if she doesn’t wanna talk about it rn then we can talk whenever she wants and goodnight but she never replied either... it’s been almost a day now. Should I text her again?

Why would you want to put more time and energy into a relationship when you have been arguing for pretty much five months? It's time to move on.

But why would she text me again saying she wants to be friends if she’s not really down? :/ I just don’t understand because she stopped texting me for a month and then 15 days after I stopped texting her she sent me this texting saying she’s over it and wants to be friends.. it doesn’t make any sense

Yeah I wanted to move on and I stopped texting her after she started ignoring me but then she texted me out of the blue saying she wants to be friends :/ I don’t understand why she would do that if she’s not really down

I still love her but I don’t know if she still feels the same... I mean she wouldn’t text me saying she wants to be friends if she didn’t care about me anymore?

I have no idea why she would text asking to be friends and then not reply - except to say that it is an immature thing to do. If this is indicative of your relationship - (both of) your communication skills are poor and there is way too much conflict for this to be a healthy, long lasting relationship. Let it go.

No, she doesn't feel the same. I think her idea of friends just meant we agree not to hate each other. Don't wait for her. Break off and so you can get over it or it will stay an open wound.

I have no idea either.. like if she didn’t want to communicate with me why would she text me saying she wants to be friends. I’m just so confused idk what to do. Actually, me and her, we both have a very similar sense of humor but she’s been acting dry so idk I asked her if she was upset with me but she never replied. So I thought maybe she really is upset like do I have to text her again in case she is?

We never “ hated each other “ actually, but yeah you’re probably right. I don’t know why she would want to be friends if she doesn’t care anymore? Like she could have just let it go. I think she is upset with me but I asked her yesterday and she never replied so I told her we can talk about it whenever she wants. She didn’t text me yet and it’s been almost a day. Idk what to do

Should I text her asking if she wants to talk about it now or should I just be normal like “ hey how was your day “

No, just let it be. Move on. You can't until you find something or someone else to distract you, so get on that ASAP otherwise she'll suck the life out of you.

Yeah maybe you’re right. If she wanted to talk then she would have texted me :/ but I don’t think I’m ready to date/talk to someone new yet

No. Stop texting. She acting like she doesn't want to be bothered, so stop bothering.

You have nothing with her except a lot of arguing. Do you like arguing? If not, then leave her alone.

I bought my ex flowers on her birthday. She would mostly ignore me when I text her but she texted me saying she wants to be friends like a week ago but then ignored me. Is it a good gesture to send her flowers on her birthday with a card telling her habby birthday and how lucky I was to have an opportunity to meet her. I also said that I miss her and wish her nothing but happiness. Was that good? Need advices please.

Bad Move!! Why would you send an "ex" flowers?? Did you think she would come running back to you?? She is an "ex" for a reason, she doesn't want to be with you anymore. Start "no contact" immediately and leave her alone.

You can't be friends with an "ex"... She will move on and start dating other people and move on with her life. You'll be stuck... pining away & over analyzing every text and emoticon.

I remember one woman dumped me and said she'd like to remain friends. I told her I had enough friends, Bye-Bye.

Pick yourself up, dust yourself off and start looking for someone new to date.

NEXT!!

Good move if you want to creep her out and ruin any slim to none chance of ever getting back together.

Your best, your only, move is to never speak with her again unless SHE reaches out at which point you have to determine if she wants you back or is just trying to alleviate guilt or loneliness.

I can see you're kind of stuck in limbo not knowing what to do or what she expects you to do or whether she expects you to do anything. I guess now all you can do is see how she responds to the flowers and note, but please don't get your hopes up. Women always want to be friends. It's not as hard for them to just be friends. But when you are still in love with someone, just being friends with them is torture.

Please remember that there is no magic gift or anything you can say that will make her come back to you. If she's going to do that, she will do that without you trying so hard. Don't hang around torturing herself while she goes on with her life and dating other guys. It's too hard. And a waste of time!

No, it was not a good move, OP.

It's too pushy and indicates you don't respect her decision to break up.
