For those of you engaged in an A, how many are looking to have an open R with your AP and how many are satisfied with a part time lover?

As a sOW, I was happy with the arrangement. I never wanted more. The A just matched my needs and desires, as well as my schedule and comfort zone. I never felt second best.

I think the same applies to many, even though they might not be actively posting here.

He was never my part-time lover, we weren't willing to have sex while he was married.

Though if his wife had been up for an open relationship I might have considered it.

It was exactly what I wanted in the beginning. Then things changed. We both wanted more so he dumped the M.

When younger, decades ago, no interest in part-time or 'open' R's or M's. Now, don't care. No dragons to slay or kingdoms to build. Whatever happens, happens. The most attractive person with the most convincing narrative wins the popularity contest of life. And then, before one knows it, poof, gone, dead. I call it the JFK factor, respecting all the women who wanted to, and did, have a part-time piece of him.

Would love to be a fly on the wall for that conversation.

"Honey, I've been sleeping with Susie on the side and we were wondering if you'd be interested in an open marriage?"

It happens more than you'd think, although I think it's usually more of a "i want this or I'm leaving you" conversation.
