What does it mean when a guy tilts his head to the side and smiles at a girl?

My friend and I were hanging out together in a room by ourselves. After he was done talking to me, we were both quiet. He stared at me with his head tilted to the side and he was smiling. He also had his lower eyelids slightly raised. He looked at me like this for about 10 seconds and I was beginning to feel sort of uncomfortable. A guy has never given me this look before. What does that look mean? What was he thinking while he was doing that?

This is a strong sign in body language.

Monkeys will often display these signs right before they attack another monkey or small animal.

Sharks also show this sign of aggression, as do caterpillars...

It’s a sign of aggression and dominance.

The female platapus will also show these signs before battling another female to the death.

Be careful Op...

Be very careful...

Sounds like he was getting ready to make a pass at you. Is that something you wouldn't mind have happen? I don't really get raising the lower eye lids...like how does a person do that exactly? No seriously, he's a great multi-tasker if he can do all those things at the same time.

It probably means the exact same thing as it means when a girl plays with her hair...absolutely nothing.

A head tilt and smiling and looking is a curiosity gesture. You both talked, then went silent...no one knew what to do or say...it was a gesture. Is he sweet on you? Don't know. You are the only one who can feel the vibe or mutual attraction. It could just be a response to the awkward silence. What was his purpose of him entering this room that you and your friend were alone in and he was compelled to stop in?

he was trying to get a better angle to look up your dress..

I think it means good things.. it is an act of submission.. so his guard was down and he felt comfortable talking with you.

Thumbs up on attraction...

I know that dogs tilt their heads to get a better look at our faces, cause their muzzles can be in the way sometimes. Any chance this guy has a big nose?

:D

With body language you should never take one thing and summise upon one thing.

It doesn't work like that.

He could have thought you were lovely

Oor

Been tired

or

been drunk

or

been dizzy

or

felt sick

or

has an ear infectoin

or

realised he was meant to call his mum

or

realised he forgot an errand he should have run

or

it was one of his natural expressions when he has nothing to say

It could have been anything.

Maybe it did not mean anything.

Women have the habit of imagining things about men that are not true. Then you start gossiping to your friend, and its all over at that point..

Maybe there was just an uncomfortable lag in the conversation and he didn't know how to wrap things up. Generally speaking, smiles are a positive thing.

I would have just asked him why he was looking at me like that. What would you have to lose by asking? You may or may not get a straight answer. But if it made you feel uncomfortable, put it back on him. *shrug*

Honestly, it doesn't mean anything if he didn't tell you what he was thinking at the time. Don't get lost down this rabbit hole of trying to divine his facial expressions. You'll wind up madder than a hatter.

If it seemed deliberate, then I'm thinking he was trying to kind of intimidate you. Anyway, body language followed by zippo is still zippo.
