So, I am 18 (girl) and in my final year of school in Australia. I met this amazing girl about 8 months ago and we have finally confessed that we like each other as more than friends. We kissed for the first time, and it was amazing.

However, I am not sure if we should pursue a relationship. This is BOTH of our first time's liking girls (I thought I was straight until her), and I'm not sure if this is just a teenage crush, or someone that I could see myself being with. I'm not even sure if I am definitely gay or bi! I just know that I am attracted to her.

Also, her parents are pretty 'old school' Christian and they wouldn't approve of the relationship. PLUSSS this is a time during school where I need to focus more than ever and I'm worried that she will be a distraction to my studies.

PLEASEEEE can someone tell me what to do. How do i tell if this is more than just an attraction? Should I wait it out and get to know her more? Should I try and pursue a relationship? Above anything else, I don't want to ruin the amazing friendship we have formed.

Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.

What do you mean?

Keep kissing and enjoying each other's company and go from there. Schedule meetups ... secret trips if you need to ... go for it! ... Your families don't need to know this right now.

Whether you are gay or bi ... none of that matters right now. Explore this wonderful relationship.

And there is no conflict between school and love ... People have girlfriends and boyfriends AND study and chew gum and stay in contact with their families all the time. Loneliness and hiding from love is also a distraction.

No need to look at the big picture of families and all of that ... You're only 18. Be open and honest with each other and see where the relationship goes.

In short: follow the fun! The next step of the fun. Get your mind off of what this means 20 years out. You don't know, and can't know, but you do know that you enjoy each other's company and you have strong feelings for each other.

Enjoy. Celebrate. Kiss. Touch. Go places. Talk. Share. Love. Learn.

It sounds like you're making it more fraught than it needs to be. If you are both OK with it, then it's OK. You're young. Have fun. It doesn't need to be a lifetime relationship!

It's not going to last forever because you're both young and likely will grow in different ways and keep exploring new people. But you may as well have fun now. Don't TELL her parents. She'll have to come out to them eventually, but she's still young, so no hurry.

Your both young and you are exploring your sexuality. Nothing wrong with that, date her and see where it leads.
