darkmoon Posted July 15, 2018 Posted July 15, 2018 In an office setting, with no promotion - how do you ask for a raise? success stories welcome
GemmaUK Posted July 15, 2018 Posted July 15, 2018 I could tell you of success stories with asking for a raise but what's crucial is your value and your company's EBITDA. If I was your manager why would I give you a raise? 1
Mr. Lucky Posted July 15, 2018 Posted July 15, 2018 If I was your manager why would I give you a raise? Agree with this. I've never asked for a raise but have requested a performance review. Even if no increase comes out of it, it's an opportune time to clarify the goals and tasks needing to be achieved for higher compensation... Mr. Lucky 1
Rockdad Posted July 19, 2018 Posted July 19, 2018 What impresses me to give full on attention when an employee approaches me for a raise is when they outline their view based on job merit and performance. That I can hear and want to hear it. What turns me off to listen to is reasons like I'm behind on my new car payment, child support ect. What I say in my head is your financial mismanagement isn't now my responsibility. Instead I may suggest things they can do in there job that can earn them a raise.
