how do you know that the person you're with is The One?

some of my married friends told me, 'they just know.' but wouldn't elaborate much.

is it more like an a-ha! moment? love at first sight? or does it creep in later in the relationship?

Your friends are right. Ya just know. Your can see yourself with that person forever. Some people can tell from a first date. Others it takes time. You'll know what were talking about when you know he's the one.

statictics say that more then 1/2(it maybe even higher after this years serveys) will end in divorce. how many people do you know thought they married "the one" only to find out 5, 10, 20, even 30 years down the road that they werent??

im not a negative person................i actually believe in "till death do you part". marriage in 2005 doesnt mean the same as marriage in 1940.

i to am a fool for believing some of my ex's were "the one". obviuosly none of them were.

I believe the man I'm with is 'the one'. My parents say that he isn't and that I can do better.

So, who knows.

Guess you can't find out if they are 'the one' until you give it a try.

I tend to believe that more than 1/2 of marriages fail because the partners fail to maintain the relationship, communicate, and love (VERB!) their significant other, not because supposedly they weren't each others "ones."

Just finding the one has no guarantee of long term success.

if he wears a black leather trench coat, can dodge bullets, and can enter and exit the matrix at will. then he probably is "the one"...

sorry just being an a--hole.

you will just know it when it happens. just be prepared to be able to know it more than once. you may make a mistake a few times down the road. i think the only way you truly know "the one" is when you look up from your deathbed and you can look past their halitosis and find love...
