KathM17 Posted June 11, 2018 Posted June 11, 2018 I was over at a guy friends apartment just catching up, and he showed me that he uses an old business card of mine as a bookmark. Then a little while later he was asking what my favorite drink is. And then before I forget, when I buzzed into his apartment, he came down to get me, opened the door, and then we started walking a few feet in the hallway and he turned around to stop and give me a hug. IÂ’ve know him forever (8+ years) but IÂ’m starting to wonder if signs like these mean something more? I also had a birthday dinner last fall and he came and remembered almost all my friends names, some of which he hadnÂ’t seen in 2-3 years! One of my friends thought it was adorable and told me she really thinks he cares and adores me. Thoughts? if he is, is he too nervous to tell me?
Logo Posted June 11, 2018 Posted June 11, 2018 It sounds like he might be inexperienced or shy. Do you know if he's lonely or not? I mean, what do you know about his social circle? Why not ask him out? What's the worst that could happen?
d0nnivain Posted June 11, 2018 Posted June 11, 2018 I think he likes you. Do you like him? If so make it obvious that if he were to ask you out, the answer would be yes. If you don't have romantic feelings for him, stay out of his apartment & decrease the # of times you hang out 1 on 1. 1

Versacehottie Posted June 11, 2018 Posted June 11, 2018 Why can’t she ask him out? What would happen? The Earth won’t tilt off its axis. She could ask him out & it's also not a bad approach. Since they are friends, he might be worried about messing up the friendship. That said, IMO a lot of the time a guy can be really hooked because he has had to make a "leap" that seem unsurmountable if that makes sense. Makes him pretty attached, plus never underestimate that a guy typically likes to be a guy, even if he is shy. OP could throw out some more signals to see how they are received, and then still pursue EITHER course of action. But i think all that have responded are in agreement that he seems like he likes you!
d0nnivain Posted June 11, 2018 Posted June 11, 2018 Why can’t she ask him out? What would happen? The Earth won’t tilt off its axis. Of course she can ask him out if she wants to. However, from the tone of her Q, I don't think she has that kind of courage. FWIW, I have never asked a man out 1st in my life. I have manipulated situations to assure a man who I wanted to date that should he be similarly attracted to me & inclined to ask, the answer would be yes. It's a bit of an old fashioned game but it goes along with the notion that the fastest way to "catch" a man is to make him chase you. 2
coolheadal Posted June 11, 2018 Posted June 11, 2018 All you do is just have to ask that's all, not second guessing.. Ask do you like me then go from there.. Otherwise another year will go by again an again...
