A terrible argument takes place. Person A (woman) says she can't take this relationship any more, says it's over but sincerely offers friendship. Person B (male) says he never meant for any of the bad stuff to happen, says goodbye and please take care, then blocks before a reply can be sent. Which one is the dumper, and why?

Person A. Because they called it.

Person A, obviously. Because she ended it, not Person B.

It was a mutual break up. The labels dumper & dumpee don't change the amount of heartache involved with the split.

There is also no such thing as a "sincere offer of friendship" after a break up. Post break up friendship is not possible. The phrase means no drama when you see each other. You can't stay close. What are you supposed to talk about -- your new relationship with somebody else? Trust me the new SO doesn't want you anywhere near your EX.
