So true! Haha. I won't go home with a guy if he's drunk, more than anything because I know the sex will be bad! I always make them wait til they're sober. Last weekend I was at a friend's party, and a mutual acquaintance and I started making out. He was so keen to come home with me, but I eventually left without him because he was so drunk. I woke up to see he'd texted me at 4:00 am asking where I'd gone, but I was like, dude, there's no way I wanted to take care of your drunk a** when you inevitably start to get the spinnies and puke. That's not sexy.

Ah yes, I can very much see that. (Don't ask me how many times I've held a woman's hair while she threw up.) But yes, there are a lot of things you can miss out on if you drink.

I met a guy on OLD and it went really well. We had so much to talk about and he was cute too. He did seem a little nervous and he kept ordering these double drinks. By the end of the night he was slurring his words somewhat.

Should I just next him because of the drinking?

Chalk it down to nerves maybe. Alcohol reduces inhibitions/nerves, so he may well have just been trying to keep himself calm because he really likes you.

Four doubles in four hours could either be excessive or nothing significant depending on the guy involved. I used to drink a lot when I was younger, and as a result even now four doubles will barely give me a buzz, unless it's on an empty stomach.

Give it another date without alcohol involved. Or you could, you know, communicate like an adult and ask him how much/often he drinks instead of seeing what a bunch of people on the internet who don't know him think :)

My current gf and I are both drinkers and I could see either of us from time to time drinking similarly to your date. Not regularly however and not when we had responsibilities to tend to later or the next morning.

Neither of us had a drink on our first date because we didn't want to cloud our judgment. We got a bottle of wine but only had one glass of wine each on our second date then had the bottle re-corked. We finished that bottle at my house after our third date.

I would be concerned and on the lookout for other signs of alcoholism. If you are not a drinker yourself then maybe you should pull the plug now.

I drink more than that when I go out with my girlfriend. And I cant even keep up with her drinking haha she can drink more than me. We like getting tipsy together.

On a first date though? No way. Kept it sober so we can communicate and get to know each other.

Sounds like he was nervous and that was his coping mechanism.
