Logo Posted March 12, 2018 Posted March 12, 2018 St. Patrick’s Day is in a week. I met someone today and I want to ask her out on a date, but I’m not sure how to approach it because there’s a good possibility she’ll be busy celebrating with her friends or family. I don’t know. She could be free. At the samet time, the more time passes between getting someone’s phone number and meeting on the first date, the lower the odds are of that person sticking around or staying interested. Am I wrong on that? Any ideas on how to deal with this? I don’t want to find myself in a situation where I’m asking, “How’s this weekend? “Busy”. “Well, how about next weekend?” It reeks of desperation?
CautiouslyOptimistic Posted March 12, 2018 Posted March 12, 2018 I didn't realize St. Patrick's Day was considered "the holidays." If she's busy, and still wants to do something, she'll suggest another day.
grays Posted March 12, 2018 Posted March 12, 2018 Me, neither. Do you live in Ireland. OP? lol. The answer to that could effect my answer to your question. 1
d0nnivain Posted March 12, 2018 Posted March 12, 2018 Ask her out on the date. If she says she has plans take her at her word & ask for a different more convenient date or time. That follow up question is not desperate. It's a negotiation. People are busy. There really isn't more to it then that. 1
