Women...text response/social media question

Ok...so I have a thread down below concerning this same woman, but this is about a different texting scenario. Ok, so we have been texting back and forth, she’s still making me wait a bit, but I’m trying to go from what I now know came off as cold/indifferent to interested. I’ve cut down text response times from hours to 20 minutes tops. So I answered a text from her last night, and this morning I woke up and had two text from her. I answered those talking about an Instagram story that I had posted the previous afternoon. I noticed early this morning that she had already seen the stories, but answered the text about them and answered a question she asked about the flooding rain that we’ve all been getting. So it’s been about 5 hours, I was expecting her to answer back in text probably then go from there. So about 5 hours goes by and I get a Instagram notification where she had just replied to the story that she had watched earlier this morning. Which means she had to go back through her stories and pull it back up and sent me “Hilarious”. No response to the text yet, I still think that might be coming, but it is odd to me.

 

Anybody have any ideas on why she would go through that to just reply to the Instagram story and not just text that back? Weird to me.

 

Is the Instagram message a substitute for the text? Just seems like more work.

This sounds like a mexican stand off lol. Dude she wants to be chased so it shows, you do value her. She is just one of those girls that doesn't chase men, and wants them to do all the heavy lifting.

OP, I think you're thinking about this a little too much.

 

There are friends with whom I have a text chain, and Instagram chain, and a Slack message thread. At any one point, we might reply on any one channel. It's not a big deal.

 

My advice would be to stop trying to analyze what everything "means," and focus on the important things, like getting to know her and asking her out. Keep the other forms of communication to a minimum.

Well it’s having some effect...because it’s making me start to chase her. I’m definitely not going to go to the extreme, because that’s a bad look. But I’ll let her know where she stands. Thanks for the post.

I’ve been told that before. It’s in my personality to analyze the meaning behind things. Not just relationships. Stop thinking and start acting...

Stop texting and just ask her out. You'll then know if she's really interested or just likes your attention. Response time doesn't mean anything, unless you have to wait days for her replies or if she starts to ignore you.
